Depends what is meant by 'behind' him.

Behind him in wanting him to do well? Of course. 100%.

Behind him in the sense of thinking he is the right man for the job? Absolutely not, it was a daft appointment at the time and if anything it looks like a worse decision now than it did then.

"We were poor today but we'll go again Monday and put it right on the training field" or

"He was shit... he was empty headed... i apologise it was my fault"

I know which i prefer

100% yes..... I took my son with me to the Crystal Palace, ok not the best result, and a ground that has swallowed up all previous SAFC manager since the early 90's, but as a long suffering fan, my son wanted to hang around to meet PDC after the game......
Unfortunately it took him and most of the team, 90mins to appear, (8:45pm)after the game. I am ashamed to say we were the only Sunderland fans their, yes in full red n white kit........feeling P.O, in between 15 CP fans, ok I did have a few strong lemonade before the match and wanted to head back for another few, but my son wanted to meet PDC......So we stood our ground outside the CP main stand.
When PDC did finally appear my sobs phone camera had given up like the rest of the team(actually it was my fault as these new phones require a young chap to operate not a middle aged muppet with fingers like pit shovels),yep....... I missed my opportunity of a pic with PDC with my son. as PDC stormed off to the front and got on the bus........
I was a bit miffed by this so I walked round and gestured to PDC my feelings by pointing to my son, my watch and the phone camera...... To my surprise he pointed to the front of the bus came down and ushered us past the security so we could have a photo my son, who will cherish this incident for a long time to come........ I thanked PDC and my parting words as we shook hands............you never stop fighting and we will never stop believing, there was a twinkle in his eye.........as he backed onto the bus never loosing full eye contact. FTM..........

Absolutely class. Loved your words to him. Reading those final few lines gave me goosebumps!

There is something genuine and honest about the man, and I quite like him, I want him to do well but I worry about his daft mouth at times like I did with Bruce. The jury is firmly out for me, but obviously I'd love him to do well, starting with a win next game.

[DOUBLEPOST=1378248603][/DOUBLEPOST]Thanks, it is always easy to bag or floor a person (manager), than stand back and see the bigger picture, how many so called top managers have we cast aside......We are a club that has feed of the scraps for far too long, now we have a manager that has put his head and hands up above the parapet, like at sir Alex F, it took him 10 or so games to get going, in the jaws of defeat and immanent sacking he changed things and never looked back for two decades....... Is this our time!!!! FTM...........

if all the coaches in the premier league took the same ruthless stance on discipline, fitness & professionalism it'd be a better league & better value for money. I support his principles but not the negative publicity he attracts with his perpetual criticism of his players. However, his approach is unique, hence IMO unless there's a sudden turnaround in performances/results we're going to have the worst team spirit in the league, if we haven't already. He's going to have to learn to compromise & be more flexible . . . and quickly.

I disagree an agree, the media live to hate the like of PDC and SAFC, as for top managers seem to have that winning quality, my way or the high way..... Self belief, total control of the team and how it works on and off the pitch..... If you run any business, you have control measures in place for the business and employes to run a successful company. What do you call flexibility give a major team player the evening off only to get drunk and bring the name of the company into distribute, send a txt to the company director and laugh in his face or just fail to follow company policy, If that was you or me we would be sacked. Why should we or the football club be different in our work ethics, PDC has got the right ideas in my book, hopefully the board and the rest of the supporters can see that. Think outside the box and look at the bigger picture, think back to the gutless wonders that have taken the piss out of our club, if we stick together support PDC and ES, we as a club will progress to better times, if not we will continue to fall in the shadow of the unclean ones....... FTM.
