Are we missing Rodwell?

Forget about the disaster he has been up until about 3 months ago.

In my opinion yes. He has a bit of presence in midfield with strength and pace. When we had our mini revival he played a big part in that with N'Dong. Rodwell staying central and N'Dong doing the leg work. I'll give Gibson more time and his debut was okay but a midfield with him and Larsson looks terrible and has made us vulnerable.

Can't believe I am saying this but when is Rodders fit?

He is a superior midfielder to Larsson & Pienaar (who due to injuries are playing for us regularly)

Larsson done a reasonable job when he came back off the ball in the wide left area in front of PvA. But with the midfield set up as it was on Saturday rather than the recent games where ndong has been deeper closing, harrying and nicking the ball and rodwell deeper almost anchoring the midfield showing he's actually got a spine we seemed to have Gibson trying to anchor it and ndong and Larson doing the donkey work wide of him, which left us short of energy and mobility in key areas against a side who had plenty of that across the park.

Think the simple answer is no. Chances are he would have done no better than what we had in there, as he has done all f***ing season bar 2 games where he put a little bit of effort in for 45 minutes.

We might as well concede the midfield and give Defoe some help upfront cos the useless fucks just get overrun no matter what.

Ndong and Gibson probably ahead of him at the moment. Larsson is filling in for him in his absence so yes, we are missing him. Hopefully Kirchhoff and Cattermole are back soon so that would push Rodwell and thankfully Larsson down the pecking order.

So....the question is....is the sicknote called Rodwell better than the recently returned sicknote Larsson......and the miles off match fitness Gibson. Then again when the other sicknotes that are Kirchoff and Cattermole return we can have real competition between sicknotes and those trying to get somewhere near match fitness.
