Arca a legend?! f***ing hell, scraping the barrel there aren't you? Overrated beyond belief. Nice fella, but legend?

he was canny - yes he was overrated but it was the first time we had a decent, skillful south american who actually made the grade!

Also, Kilbane's problems on Weirside were mostly due to not being Julio Arca. so yes he was overrated but he was also good. And a legend!

"Hang on, whees that on the left? that's not Julio! BOOOOOOOOOO"

You didn't see it mate. Lovely 'crunching' sliding tackle. Shearer didn't know what had hit him. Irony is, the amount of times he's knacked players with them elbows of his, yet we were the villains

cheers for the answer - just googled it - and got the BBC report - was this actually his final game for the mags?- on the beeb it said he was due to retire in 3 games time anyhow.

Just googled Shearer again -

bitter-sweet finale for all concerned - him & us

Aye. He ended his career on that game.
Think he had a testimonial after, but can't remember, they're not high up on my list of things worth remembering

The deflected one aye?

'top player' piss right off. Rarely scored goals, rarely got assists. He was a half decent player who stood out when we were f***ing rubbish.

who died and made you MoN?

arca was left back who was skillful enough to play left wing. granted he wasn't prolific in front of goal but, as you say he was playing in a team that were record holder for be shite in the PL. i wonder how much that hindered his development.

Arca not a legend in same way as monty/quinny/skp/shack.
but still a top player and a to lad.#

even after he left he was apparently help out people like Arrnau after his leg break out on loan

one of my all-time favourites - seriously pissed off that the 33 was sullied with Gyan.

For a generation like mine who has basically only know SAFC to be utter shit bar a couple of class seasons with Quinn/Phillips, Arca was one of those rare exciting players that we've rarely had in the last 10-15 years. He might not have been seen as a world beater in Premier League terms but fans of a certain age think of him as being a ray of light among a whole load of dark shit.

JUUUUUUUUUULIOOOOOOOOOOO!

Hence, he's overrated by many.
