Of course they're record sales. The market is less than a year old.

BBC says worse than expected for iPads, you haven't presented anything that contradicts that.

I'm reasonably confident Nokia is happy to own the global mobile phone market and derive huge revenue inflow from its patent portfolio.

Come on man Weasel, join the future.

Well, they can as the statistics prove beyond doubt to anyone who can count. Nokia routinely shift 12 times as many phones as Apple's "phenomenal record-breaking record". They routinely shift 3 times as many smartphones as Apple's "phenomenal record-breaking record".

:lol::lol::lol:

Epic fail

Apple make about 40 times the profit that Nokia do.

Nokia give their smartphones away in lucky bags

You're also reasonably incorrect

I'll stick with a phone you can make calls on thanks. I'm not keen on communicating via cryptic messages hidden in shared spotify playlists. This isn't Short Circuit 2.

Yet Apple still manage to make around 4 time more profit than them.

EDIT, didn't see that someone had already mentioned this above.

WHAT? You mean a company exclusively selling premium products has a bigger margin than one that targets the whole market?

Fuck me, who'd have thought it?

Except absolute profit isn't the best way to analyse a company. Whats their turnover? What's the gross margin? What's the analyst outlook for both companies?

Not necessarily.

Would you rather sells lots of shit and make a little profit, or sell a little of something good and make a huge profit.

I know which route I'd be going down.

You'd go down the emotional route (see "shit"/"good") and your competitors who don't cry all the time would eat you for breakfast.

Not necessarily.

Last time I looked, Apples profit it around 20% of turnover. Nokias was 8%.
