Since their success is directly proportional to the amount of gullible twats around, their results should be pretty impressive TBH.

Ohhhhhh an apple!

ipad? pointless, why not just buy a netbook at a 3rd of the cost?

androids better anyways...

We'll need the smartphone market stats to make any sense of the Apple results. Selling twice as many iPhones in a static market = great. Selling twice as many when market has doubled = treading water. Selling twice as many when market has more than doubled = falling behind.

iPad isn't doing as well as expected. Perhaps that's because portable tablet computing is a shit idea and people are beginning to realise this.

Type - see the edit.....still a record sale

And for the record Nokia is in the shit because they sell low quality low margin

I'm sure the people at Nokia are putting all their effort into transforming the firm into a one-product business.

Tablets also achieved better than expected/record sales. As did the Macbook Pro.

If Nokia could find one successful product they would probably be ecstatic. I expect Apple to pick them up in the January sales.

They can't GIVE Nokias away at the moment.
How the mighty fall.

Well, they can as the statistics prove beyond doubt to anyone who can count. Nokia routinely shift 12 times as many phones as Apple's "phenomenal record-breaking record". They routinely shift 3 times as many smartphones as Apple's "phenomenal record-breaking record".

Of course they're record sales. The market is less than a year old.

BBC says worse than expected for iPads, you haven't presented anything that contradicts that.

I'm reasonably confident Nokia is happy to own the global mobile phone market and derive huge revenue inflow from its patent portfolio.
