Anyone worked in Dubai ?

used to travel out there for work events. Only place I have ever visited that I really didn't like and have no desire to go back to.

If you like unimaginable sweltering heat and absolutely nothing to do and nowhere to go though......

How can you say there is nothing to do and no where to go?
It’s one of the top holiday destinations in the world, surely that must mean there is one or two things to pass your time.
It’s f***ing hot like , especially the summer months. The rest of the time it’s pretty manageable though.

easy, I just said it up there in fact^
So there is no golf , beaches, shopping , ex pat community with access to every football match , no places to eat or drink .
No sporting events including horse racing , rugby and gran prix , no cricket to watch .
no nightclubs , no theatres , no pop concerts , no art galleries , no indoor or outdoor water parks , no indoor ski slopes
Etc etc etc.
You must be canny boring if you can’t find something to do out there. Even the whores are world class,

Most of the other stuff you listed can be done in a vast amount of places, they are not Dubai specific.

you seemed pretty lost to begin with tbh
Why don’t you just say that you don’t like the place instead of giving absolute bullshit advice to a poster who is genuinely looking for information.
The only thing you have said which is correct is that it’s hot.

I did say I don't like the place.

you seem incredibly touchy about this. is Dubai your girlfriend or something?

I couldn’t give a fuck , if your so boring that you can’t find something to do in Dubai then I feel sorry for you.
There are some good posters on here who live out there and will give the lad/ lass the good advice he is looking for . The place is far from perfect and definitely not for everyone but to say there is nothing to do is plain ridiculous.

Just accept that we are all different, we all enjoy different things. Life's rich tapestry etc.

My mate used to live and work there and made a fortune in recruitment. Now lives in Singapore but preferred Dubai. Relocated with the company.

In the Bible God lost his blob at the towns of Sodom and Gamorrah I think. Had Yahwe had a good look at Dubai he would do it again. I have trawled most of the world and the one place I despise is Dubai. It is awful.

Haway then, regale us with your vast experience

I dunno just didn't like it, didn't get it personally, barely any culture, man made place.

Fair enough if you are earning good money, but of all the places I have been in the world, its somewhere I didn't like, which has barely ever happened.

Felt like a theme park

Passed through and been there for work (Only short stay), seemed alright, usual stuff that expats like me like doing, mainly drinking and socialising. Although nothing that really captured me, still prefer my SE Asia places, which are much more raw, unexpected, visually exciting etc (Jakarta, manila, Bangkok, Hanoi, HCMC etc, with KL, HK and Singapore on the more clinical side but still my sort of place).

So zero relevance to the OPs question then? Lovely place to live and work.... With the correct employer
