I have mates who managed a year or two, but the reason they stopped and flew home is that their employers tended to treat them like shite.

I couldn't handle the heat, much less their antigay laws.

Remember on a flight to Sri Lanka and a couple were talking about going to Dubai. Think the change over was there which is why it came up. One of the air stewards was saying it was amazing and the couple asked what there was to see and do. "Oh god, loads of things, great shops and erm.... Oh its got an amazing water park and like, erm, like just loads of things really".
