Anyone who thinks we not going down is deluded

Aye.

Shearer was the only reason we started playing well. A lot of people had some faith in MON and the players would come good. No one is saying we are out of the woods yet. But for you and others to have thrown you toys out of the pram in the manner that you did, just shows you lot up for the knobs that you are.

Some humans are more patient and calmer than others shocker...

Maybe recent history suggests we are right to think the worst in such situations we were playing really poorly.

It's funny that the people who are quickest to start the name-calling tend to be the most sensitive when called back n'arl.

Recent history would suggest we didn't actually look that bad and that we've also seen a couple of wins/new players can change things totally. It was far too early to be panicking and results weren't that bad.

To be fair, there's still a lot of football left to play and we aren't out of the woods yet. A few wins and improved performances and everything is rosey? Those thinking that way are just as 'fickle' as the bedwetters when things are bad, surely? Anything can happen..

I find in these situations its better to just put your hands up and say " I was wrong, I was being a juvenile dweeb knobhead and in future Ill try and have a bit more patience". All will be forgiven if you say this.

But some people believe in giving the manager a chance, before urinating their undies

Who's right and who's wrong has utterly no consequence. Utterly none.

Look at the first page of this and see who starts the personal abuse.

Probably because, in general, people don't take kindly to being told they're deluded for holding a perfectly reasonable opinion.

I think this point has been made, but if you'd merely started a thread saying "I'm worried we're going down - O'Neill can't seem to lift the players and recent performances have been dreadful. It's been reminiscent of the 15 and 19 point seasons recently," this wouldn't have been justifiably bumped. God knows there were enough of them.

You said "I've never bumped a thread because it's a bit sad and smug when we all say things or have opinions that end up being proved wrong"- but 1) this isn't what happened and 2) what you did was probably more objectionable than if this had happened. Your thread title implied that anyone who didn't agree with you literally couldn't justifiably hold that opinion if they were reasonable people. What you were doing is shutting down debate. You deserve everything you get.

It was clearly the case then that you were acting like a dick - but you couldn't see this - and it's now even more clearly the case now that you were acting like a dick. Hopefully you can now see this.
