Anyone participate in Walking Football?



11am goals Sunderland on Thursdays. there is a session in Washington not site on days or times go on Durham fa site it will give you details
 
Can't get my head around it. Just seems like you'd be constantly having to hold back from bursting into a jog/run. Fair play to those who enjoy it tho.

It's canny for people like me who have osteoarthritis and hips gradually crumbling away. My mind tells me to run around like I did 30 odd years ago, but my limbs have given up the ghost.

I could do gentle walking but it gets so tedious. I used to play football, rugby, tennis and cricket, and also coached football, so still being able to be active in sport is as good for the mind as it is for the body.

A misplaced pass can still have you chasing the ball like an Olympic race walker, mind!
