have you experienced the engine symbol lighting on the dashboard?

it is something to do with emmissions.

i think it might be down to some much in the petrol and was hoping to get away with a bit of red x to flush the sysem

any ideas?

there is only Aston Martin and Range Rover owners on here mate. try the pf

It's usually an engine management issue on most cars, dunno about the Colt specifically.

Could be a sensor gone bad. Get the code read at a garage or buy one of those cheapo gadgets that does it for you.

Lambda sensor in the exhaust , thats what it sounds like , its part of the emissions control system. I had to replace 2 on an Octavia I had , and both times it threw a CEL on the dash.

You can tell that from the light? ;)

It could also be the MAF/MAP sensor, TPS sensor or a number of other things.
That's why it is essential to get the code read. Guessing can get very expensive.

took it to Bling Motors in washington and they were unable to connect the diagnostic machine as the car was not a "standard shape"
