Had a pain in my calf did nt go away went to GP thought it was a strain.
After a week whole leg became inflammed and really bad pain in my thigh.
Went to A & E after ultrasound diagnosed with blood clot in left leg.
On medication to thin the blood .Being self employed and doing physical
work and excersize a lot, just worried about how long these take to heal.
Given myself 2 weeks off as feel a bit like i have the flu and ache all over. .
Wonder if anyone has had any experience of this .As i'm frustrated cannot work
or exercise .

A friend of my wife's had her dad diagnosed with one of these, he was continually complaining about pain in his thigh. I think he was put on blood thinners, died a week later. On the bright side he was in his eighties.

Suffered two, one in 99 from a break in my leg which went to my lungs, in hospital for nearly two weeks, on warfrin for 6 months with a blood test every week. Then ten years later same again but this time no break, just in my leg. You’ll have to stay off the drink, because it affects your blood. Doesn’t impact on your life in general though.

Yeah I'm on warfarin for life
Had DVT in leg years ago after a long haul flight, initially put on warfarin for 6 month.
A few years later, had what I thought was a chest infection, short of breath, couldn't breathe properly. Had a scan and it was a PE (pulmonary embolism) Blood clot on the lung.

I have a painful calf, it goes red and warm to touch I read up on DVT and was convinced I had it. Went to the doctor's he reckons I have nt got it.
My bro in law died earlier this year through a blood clot. Travelled up his leg to his lungs. It was only a few weeks after he'd flown back from Melbourne.

I walked into a lamppost a few years ago and my belt buckle dug into my pelvis. A few hours later my balls were hurting. I didn't think owt of it.

Woke up the next day, my left bollock was jet black, and about the size of a cricket ball. I couldn't walk. Absolute agony. I managed to get to the doctors the day after, she had a feel, and informed me I'd either severed a vein going into my bollocks or it was a clot. Luckily for me, it was neither. The swelling went down after about 2 weeks, during which I couldn't even walk to the shops. f***ing agony.

Protip: don't walk into lampposts. ;)

This was April, did you survive?

I’ve had DVTs in both legs and pulmonary embolisms twice. In 2014, the first time and the doctor couldn’t find any cause so I was put onto blood thinning medication for life.
Happened again in March this year so they doubled the dose of blood thinners.
It doesn’t stop me doing anything.
