Anyone else think that Don and Methven…

And if we'd achieved promotion, which we were so close to doing, they would have been feted as heroes, one of us and all the rest. Such is the fickleness of some Sunderland supporters.
Fickle not to like the worst owners in the clubs history who used its own money to buy it

Nah
SD wasn’t that bad ,just out of his depth but Charlie was a patronising twat. Good riddance to the smarmy tosser

No, they were shit. Even on the balance of probabilities you would have expected them to get things right from time to time. Instead they got every single significant decision - and the vast majority of all decisions - wrong.

It's not a good thing to make a club which should be in the Championship, at least, sustainable in League One.

Any good business owner would've thrown the kitchen sink and got out of it. If they were in charge, no doubt we'd still be down there.

Weren’t that bad at all?

-Got the club sustaining itself after was haemorrhaging it’s way to liquidation.
-Got rid of the problem staff and players
-Eventually got us promotion after a few unlucky misses

I’m not saying they were great and think their time is up now as we have moved up to the championship just saying that I never understood what was meant to be so bad about them. For me the Short reign was far worse and could have easily liquidated the club

The shell game with the parachute payments that allowed them to usurp the funds to buy the club and not pay it back was awesome.

Predatory arseholes the pair of them.
Next time a tuna trousered twat turns up I presume I won’t be required to warn the smb again about what their trouser trouser of choice indicates about their attitudes to life and business? No need for an apology.

Lucky tossers who have fell into a bucket of shite and found a wedge . They are a pair of unprofessional no marks who would of killed us off had the young whippersnapper not came in

Whilst I agree that Shorty left us deeply in the mire, and the chuckle brothers therefore did some good work initially, I think you are stretching it to say they got us promotion. That is something they singularly failed to do. SD has been as absent as Short by the end of his time with us; KLD takes credit for hiring the boss who got us over the line. I would also credit KLD with making a good fist of clearing up the parkyball mess that the chuckle brothers dragged us into. He brought in and subsequently parted company with LJ who gave us moments of hope as well as moments of abject despair and thus had to go in the end.

Well done them for getting rid of problem players; they deserve every credit for bringing the Djong / Djillibodji farce to an end as well as the Rodwell saga. They do know they deserve a kicking for inflicting Will Grigg on us, but much as the lad was useless (pound for pound) in red and white, even he was an improvement on those who disgraced the shirt by the end of the Short era. Not so well done them for getting rid of some young diamonds leaving us watching leage 1 journeymen instead. Again, KLD has turned the attention back on developing young talent rather than selling it for a few more magic beans.

Getting rid of problem staff? Not so sure about that; seems to me they binned off some loyal servants to the club just because they dared challenge some things that needed to be challenged.

They are about to walk away with their pockets full of cash so from their own point of view, they weren't that bad at all. Methven has earned himself a reputation as a southern know-it-all who feels himself superior to northern numpties and for this view it is hard to show him any respect. SD seemed a jolly enough chap though showed he lacked the nous to drive us forward. It is very hard to argue against the case that they came in hoping to achieve a quick promotion and thus a swift and profitable exit for themselves.

The club was indeed haemorrhaging it’s way to liquidation when they stepped in so yes they had a better business plan than Shorty and of course they had work to do in getting premier wage players out and cheaper yet still effective players in; some good players arrived to serve the club in their time here (as well as some dross as already mentioned)

All in all, I would thank them for the good they did, but my thanks is very much muted.

There’s always fine lines in history. If we imagine for a moment that we’d beaten Charlton in he playoffs and Madrox had pulled off a significant takeover such as the Dell one. We’d have built a bloody statue of that pair of them. But things didn’t work out that way and we all have a very different view.

Like mist things in life, the truth lies somewhere in between.

They were f***ing awful man! The past 4 seasons have been the worst the club has endured… how can anyone possibly claim they weren’t “that bad?”

It’s been one calamity to the next under the pair of goons.

They will rightly be remembered as the worse owners in history, and never welcomed back by the majority of supporters.
Decent lads who did their best chastised by bots on a fan forum.

Piss take surely? Last time Methven appeared at the SoL he rightly had to cower back in the box he was watching the game from.

This may sound ridiculous but if CM had worn jeans instead of red chinos he’d probably have gotten more backing from some of our 1980s three day week fans ;)
