anyone booked a Hotel yet?

If I wanted to go by train how would I do it?
Go on line to www.lner.com and search for your tickets on the dates you want- if all ok then buy it. They even let you reserve a seat.

What could possibly go wrong?
If you have a SatNav I would check it is working properly and with updates fully installed on the floppy dick drive. If it isn't I would go to the manufacturer for a full refund or perhaps reboot it using an allen key in the USB-X terminal. Or alternatively open up the back of the device and put a wet finger on it to see if it is running the GOTO10 mode.

That post seems to say that you are currently trying to have a good time with your Lass

Last night I booked a room on a flexible rate at the Travelodge KX for the friday and saturday night. £375.

Bit of a crazy price...but i can only see the cost going one direction, i.e. up....and its cancellable until noon on the day.

My biggest connundrum is that we are booked to be on a family holiday in Turkey at the same time. While the logistics would be possible for a cheap rtn flight to london and back to turkey, i cant see how the wife will agree to this. Its only 2 and a bit days, but an initial exploratory suggestion has not gone down well. Nevertheless, I thought wise to keep the door open, for now at least.

Im in turmoil to be honest....
Rumour has it that your wife has become a life-long fan of Luton Town.

The Marriott in West Hampstead is a fair bit more expensive than it was last year when we stayed. I may or may not have booked it - not wanting to tempt fate with my gambling record down the years.

Trainline is ok but I would prefer LNER.

My other post says I am having a laugh with you. Same as anyone would do to me.

I've got the Premier Inn Edgware booked for the night before £172, but if we do make it to the final, I'm thinking of driving down and back same day. Starts to get expensive with petrol both ways, hotel, evening meal / beer / breakfast, lunch / food on way home and match tickets. Probably looking at close to £500 where as down and back same day will be £250 max.

Just booked an apartment in Watford town centre for 2 nights, £380. The same hotel I stayed in for the last play off final for about £150 now want nearly £800 for two nights.

Because the kick-off time will be 4.45pm it will be nigh on impossible to get a train back that night.
There are 2, one at 8pm and one at 9pm

8pm is a no go if game goes to Extra-Time / Pen as game will not finish til 7:45 at the earliest

16:45 KO, 2 hours with added on time etc gives it a FT of 18:45 (if game is won in 90mins
19:15 if won AET
19:45 if won on Pens

The 9pm train is pushing if you dont get to Wembley Park Tube (or eqv), by 8pm - then (if we get there and win), you miss all the fun

I booked ours in September I think, and then rebooked them when the dates changed last month I think it was
booked back end of august 3 rooms at the premier inn Luton south £200 with brekkie, then saw Wayne the punks message (cheers Wayne) saying to check dates and sure enough it had come forward a couple of days, price up to £350 with brekkie (thieving bastards) but what can you do, cancelled and re-booked, stayed there last year and it was great and only 30 mins to our car park which is getting booked as i type.
