Any way to keep youtube playing when you switch apps?

How can you keep a song playing, trying to post song to here but as soon as I come back to here the youtube app stops playing the music

I actually suffer the same with YouTube.
Annoying.

Spotify songs play whilst I look at say rtg etc

On iPhone it’s a YouTube premium feature, or if you jailbreak there are tweaks to do it for free. I expect android is similar

Download Brave Browser and use that for your YouTube, it blocks YouTube ads anarl.
In the browser settings go to Background Video Playback under Controls and enable it.

I've got Premium as use YT all the time. Zero ads and you can switch apps/lock phone and it still plays - well worth it imo.
