Any interest for a East Yorkshire supporters branch?

Occasionally. For the Huddersfield one however we'll be going direct from Kendal as we're away for a few days. Definitely happy to help out though for other games if we can .
I usually drive up and back could car share on occasion . Message me any time if youre thinking of going up .

Small world, me and my younger brother were only in our late teens, 17 or 18, wet behind the ears and very nervous. Was an education to say the least. And at 14 you certainly weren’t one of the odd ones i was referring to 🤣.

What years were you travelling? It was 84 to about 90 or 91 for me by which time there was enough of us in Selby to go up by car and it be cheaper than the bus.

I am still in touch with a few of them and had a couple of good meet ups when we played Donny in L1 and unfortunately at Lance’s funeral.

I'm in Bridlington, nightmare on the train, 3 cancelled this Saturday, both hands up for a branch

Will do, up for Leeds game ?

It is a pain to get to York on the train, my daughter lives there and i can tell you the service is terrible. It would take 4 hours to get to the match from leaving home at least, if i drive it’s under 2. If there was a coach going from Hull up the east coast it would work better imho. What i envisaged as an East Yorkshire branch seeing as York is in North Yorks and some way inland, it’s 1 hour 15 in the car from Brid.
How do you get from Brid to Sunderland in under 2 hours?

Still travel back a bit to visit in laws etc. Always seems to take me 2:20ish

takes me 1 hour 40 if no traffic or on a night but during the day it’s a 2 hour trip and your 20 mins from me

Probably 86 to 90 i would think, very infrequently though. At the time my older brother was the only one with a car, we would go up with him s a norm but if he couldn’t make it we would go with the Donny branch, maybe 2 or 3 times a season. Don’t really remember any names tbh, just a couple of the more stand out characters.

There or there about, up the coast road and A19 at smog city, i‘m not talking much under two hours but generally there or there about. Usually travel early ( 7ish) so me and my Daughter can spend some time with family in Durham.

There's a Leeds / Bradford branch that is doing really well. They've got a facebook page and a whatsapp group if its of any use to anyone. Good set of lads running it too

Top branch  that pick up from Leeds then Knaresborough. Also West Yorkshire branch that that pick up from Brighouse and Castleford (I think!).

I mix it up between the coast road and going through Malton up to Thirsk.

I'm SR6 so that generally adds on 15-20 mins across Sunderland to be fair.

Doing it Xmas day this year.

Never tried that, only moved here from Donny last October so just took the obvious, i’ll give it a go.

The point i was making was that travelling to York would add a decent amount of time for me 1.20ish to York then 1.30ish to Sunderland but @Yahrba (cheers Marra) came up with a cracking idea by going one stop on a train to Beverley if that was to become a pickup point.

Might be mate but if youre in Brid it would be a 45 min detour and obviously there would be no train connection from mine in Bev at 1.00am . Bit of a problem for the Brid lads on night mathes if a bus goes the York route too. Might work with you and @Sunderland Til I Cry though

I suspect I will have been on some of those trips cos I was pretty regular back in those days. 😊

No need for apologies Marra, read it back and it wasn’t massively clear 🤣. Yeah, lived in Donny until retiring to the coast last year, used to go up with the Donny branch on occasion in the 80’s / early 90’s, different experience travelling with a group, great company and great crack on the whole. Although there were a couple of strange characters in the Donny branch back then 🤣.
I used to travel up with the donny branch.

Just start it, then get in touch with Chris Waters to become an official branch of the club, join the BLC and ask them to help you spread the word on social media and you'll soon get a following.
Definitely this
We need more branches so that we can add the badge to the other beaches and fill the concrete facade
