I’m thinking about putting myself through my HGV licences and getting a job driving, is there any drivers on here and would you recommend it or stay away from the industry?

It'll be years before they're allowed on the roads.. Hell driverless cars are proving tricky to get right.

Why aye obviously it won’t happen in months. Nobody knows for sure when it will happen but it will at some point, the savings to the industry would be enormous.

Aye it will, but they won’t let driverless wagons on the road until cars are on it and they are miles off

Iam a class 1 driver mate and I`d advise you to spend your money on something else.

If you’re willing to drive into London and do over nighters you’ll be okay. Father in law does it and he’s still gettting plenty of work at 70+ years as the young ‘uns don’t want to do the hard graft.

Opposite way round. Trucks first as they are point to point, much easier to set up.

Can confirm this, the foreign drivers are the worst. f***ing stinkers and top of the pops for sock wearing with sandals and short wearing attire. Used to get a oldish bloke in regular, proper bent as a nine bob note, he looked like quentin crisp for those old enough to remember. We always used to say we could imagine him sitting in his rig with sussies etc pulling his plonker by the way , apparently their is going to be a massive shortage of drivers as a huge majority are old boys nearing retirement. So i have been told.

41 bastad years of driving long distances.... Don't do it... Unless you just do a trunking job.... Even then I would keep well clear.
