Anti-piracy

It´s very easy to block.. The first step is to simply just allow traffic thru certain Ports, not the ones VPN use. After that you look for the VPN "handshakes" that will identify the VPN which means that you´ll need advanced software to fool the block.

.. I know how it works .. As as you do, do you seriously think ISP's will block VPN's ..

I'm on VPN about 50 hours a week when I work from home. If I watch Sunderland away games it will be for about 46 hours per season, so blocking VPNs isn't going to happen

Why don't they offer video on demand of games after 5pm has passed? So after you've been to the game (or you can't make it for whatever reason) you just log in and watch at your own pace. When I lived in New Zealand, I used to do this with the Premier League Pass and it was class

If you couldn't get to the game you just stay away from tech so you don't know the score and then watch it 'live' at your earliest convenience. If you have been to the match then time permitting, it's canny watching the game again (unless we were f***ing shite!) as you see quite a few things you missed or simply wanted to see again. Premier League Pass used to allow you to watch the game any time up until the next week.

As someone said, music, movies, TV etc is all about streaming now yet football in the UK is still locked out by the 3pm rule!

Or, just allow open and transparent viewing of all games. With punters paying a set price per season to follow their teams.

They done exactly the same with the pirate bay a couple of year ago. All ISP's had to block it to stop torrents being downloaded.
Last week I was able to download a few series of Mr Tumble and In the night garden for the bairn off the same blocked website without any VPN.... I'm with Sky BB. The blocks just don't work as more links/proxies to the sites pop up before they have time to block them. After a few days having to watch Mr Tumble I wish they were able to block me mind!! No doubt I'll be saying the same about watching Sunderand this season.

The horse has bolted.

As soon as one door closes, another has already opened.

They need to replicate NFL Game Pass.

I agree about Game Pass but it's worth remembering that there are still 'black outs' for certain games. So even if you have purchased GP, you may not be able to watch some NFL games

Premier league wins anti-piracy ruling on BBC teletext now. The blocking order will require UK ISP to prevent people from illegally accessing streams of the matches.

Just use a VPN and there's nowt they can do.

Even if they figure out a plan to fettle the VPN there'll be something along to take its place
