Looked very shaky at first. Didn't drop any outright clangers but conceded a few goals that I'd expect better on - Maguire's first vs Lincoln for starters.

He's got better the more he's played and made some quality saves. But at the same time he's also had less to do than Hoffman did as he's playing in front of a better defence. I'm ok with him but he's still got a lot to prove.

There was one game in particular where he came out and won everything put into the box. Can’t remember who it was now but he got motm I think. He’s not the perfect keeper, obviously but once again nowhere near as bad as is suggested at times.
This. I can’t remember the game either but he was excellent.

When he first came in earlier in the season he came for too much. He would charge at everything and sometimes get it wrong. The balance is right now and is getting better all the time. For me he is one of the best hot prospects at the club. No worries at all from me.
Reckon he's reading it?
I hope not. If he is then I hope he sees there are a lot of positive comments about him too.

I think it'd be daft for any footballer to be reading forums or any social media to be honest. There are lots of positive posts though.

Team need to get their heads on everything that comes in the box tonight as Patto doesn't like to move an inch from hs line.
Eh? :lol::lol:

At first he used to come and flap but lately he’s been coming and collecting nearly everything that comes in the box

If you’ve not noticed we’ve changed managers
And the relevance of this on Paterson’s ability is?
He's not fairly shit at all, what a cheap throwaway comment to make about a young man making his way in the game.
Do we need to pretend he’s good just because he’s young? Is there an age at which I am then allowed to voice in opinion on ability?
Surprised at that mind, not that you rate Hoffman higher, but that you rate him high enough that you think something must have happened behind the scenes.

I haven't been impressed with Hoffman at all. I think all 3 keepers are of a similar standard, but Patterson is the man in form.
I think the fact he’s been back to Germany twice suggests not everything is rosey. Seems very odd and coincidental that both our Germans have been back for medical care within months of each other. Maybe that it is a genuine medical thing, of course. Who knows.

Calling him 'fairly shit' is unfair and typical of your frequent cocky arrogance. Patterson has done well in pressurised circumstances and at his age is a rookie for a 'keeper. Hoffman was conceding a lot of goals and needed taking out. For me we have never replaced McLaughlin who was a more than competent 'keeper at this level.
I think Hoffman conceding goals and Patterson not is more relevant to our defence than their abilities. LJ played very open and we conceded chances time and again, Neil very much the opposite.

I’d worry about Wycombe in the final the way they were whipping them in yesterday mind. We’ve been defensively very solid under Neil and he hasn’t had a massive amount of saves to make. Next 2/3 games will be different.
Hopefully he's learned his lesson re Wycombe after that goal he got held on the line for down there place. Ref wanted f***ing for allowing that one. Think he has grown and improved over the last months. Has Hoffman got close to triggering contract renewal for appearances.

Is he a future star or are you worried?

When I’ve seen him he looks very hesitant on crosses. Wednesday have scored a lot of goals from corners recently.

Big pressure match - it looks a big ask to me for a keeper with so little experience.

What do you think?
Solid goalkeeper at this level. He’s played every game since Alex Neil has came in and has conceded only 10 goals, and has got 7 clean sheets in his last 12 games for us.

I don’t know how often you’d have seen him, we’ve been on Sky twice when he’s played. Once away to Wycombe who just boss every keeper at this level & once away to Plymouth where he kept a clean sheet.

Absolutely no problem at all with Patterson.
