He's fine, not as good as some on here make out. Had very little to do most games over the past couple of months and most of the saves people go on about are saves you'd expect a keeper to make albeit the one down Oxford was an absolute belter.

If we go up then I'd hope we sign a new #1, if we stay in this division then I'd be alright with him being first choice.

Well that's not true is it? McLaughlin was signed on a free and everyone recognises he was a fair bit better than Patterson.

Equally, he’s better than some of the detractors on here say. Be some balance somewhere.

For balance, how many goals have they conceded in games played?

Lets develop Patterson instead of someone else's keeper.
31 for Hoffmann and 19 for Patterson, obviously there's a few differences in style that they've each played under. Doesn't look like we'll be signing Hoffmann so agree with the last point.

Is he a future star or are you worried?

When I’ve seen him he looks very hesitant on crosses. Wednesday have scored a lot of goals from corners recently.

Big pressure match - it looks a big ask to me for a keeper with so little experience.

What do you think?
Answer - dont concede any corners, free kicks or let them get crosses in

Playing better due to the whole defence tightening up, but I don't think he's anything special.

If we were to go up, I'd want 2 keepers in with Patterson possibly going out on loan as he's still young with a lot to learn.

if you'd asked in january i would of said concerned. As of now - been one of our best players for months - i think he will be the best keeper on the pitch tonight
Very good with his feet as well, so calm to pass the ball out confidently when under a lot of pressure

He's improving quickly.

I thought he could have come against Rotherham. Maybe slightly harsh but there was nobody on him and the bloke nodded home from 5 yards.

Hopefully he'll continue to develop. He pulled off a superb save down Oxford. We wouldn't have won without it.

Don’t we trigger a permanent deal if we get promoted?
Were those and the 6 at Bolton entirely his fault? Have to say I don't have a good memory on the ones we concede

I don't mind Hoffmann or Patterson, I'm not sure Hoffmann is as shit as some do. Patterson has had the benefit of a manager who can sort a defence out too. Hopefully another 3 clean sheets for Patterson 😬

Just the first one when he came out the box for some strange reason. Patterson has done well but I still think Hoffmann is currently the better keeper

At the start of the season, he was definitely not ready. But, having had to play because if Burge and Hoffman being injured/Covid, he's actually developed confidence and looks a very solid keeper. He's only young, and he has areas to work on certainly, but I wouldn't say there is a great deal in it between him and Hoffman, they're both a similar standard but Patterson has the shirt on merit.

Hoffmann needs to play another two games plus promotion, I think that's what he said in his latest article.

Playing well. Not a lot to do and is the main beneficiary of a Doyless side but doing orite.

At the start shots were flying through his body and in at near post.

Hoffmann's half-decent, too.

Still learning but he’s a very promising keeper.
If (I know) we were to qualify for the final and were playing Wycombe I‘d be more than a little worried about their potential to cause havoc from set pieces but that’s a concern that can be parked at the moment.

We‘ve faced a few teams that are more physical than Wednesday since Patterson took the keeper’s jersey and he’s coped just fine.

There was one game in particular where he came out and won everything put into the box. Can’t remember who it was now but he got motm I think. He’s not the perfect keeper, obviously but once again nowhere near as bad as is suggested at times.
