He’s really improved.
He’s not the only one who tends not to come out for crosses it seems a modern trend.
Having said that I have seen him come out and claim some.

He’s fairly shit tbh. Doing an alright job for us but don’t really see why he’s starting over Hoffman, somethings clearly happened behind the scenes we aren’t aware of. I’d be surprised if he’s first choice next season, regardless of division.
Surprised at that mind, not that you rate Hoffman higher, but that you rate him high enough that you think something must have happened behind the scenes.

I haven't been impressed with Hoffman at all. I think all 3 keepers are of a similar standard, but Patterson is the man in form.

One of only 7 keepers in the league to have conceded less than 1 goal every 90 mins.

That includes the wildcard game away at Wycombe where he was thrown in the deep end due to covid absences and conceded 3. But also includes a much better defensive setup under Neil which equals out.

He's fine, not as good as some on here make out. Had very little to do most games over the past couple of months and most of the saves people go on about are saves you'd expect a keeper to make albeit the one down Oxford was an absolute belter.

If we go up then I'd hope we sign a new #1, if we stay in this division then I'd be alright with him being first choice.

Another “he didn’t cost x million therefore he’s shit” thread

Time some posters learnt the facts of life

Well that's not true is it? McLaughlin was signed on a free and everyone recognises he was a fair bit better than Patterson.

Calling him 'fairly shit' is unfair and typical of your frequent cocky arrogance. Patterson has done well in pressurised circumstances and at his age is a rookie for a 'keeper. Hoffman was conceding a lot of goals and needed taking out. For me we have never replaced McLaughlin who was a more than competent 'keeper at this level.

The one at Lincoln away was another brilliant save.

best weve got - was worried when he first came in, had a few clangers but been solid since.
Has he? I can’t remember him being directly at fault for any goal in particular. Another poster previously pointed out the Wycombe goal (Vokes I think) where he’s being pinned by at least one player on the line - clear as day foul in any other league bar this joke competition.

Patto is solid as fuck for his age playing week in week out against generally very physically challenging competition.

Some ridiculous comments.

Apparently he shouldn't be singled out for an overwhelming flaw in his game. One which, rest assured, will be exploited by any scout with working eyes. In fact I take that back.
Stevie Wonder could figure out a gameplan for us. His shot stopping and distribution look solid and give him a great foundation but he'll die a death as a keeper unless he can come for crosses.
To say he's comfortably one of the best keepers in the division now after half a shaky season is just plain lying.

Mad that teams don’t smash crosses in every game then lol

or the 4 at Pompey, 5 at Rotherham, 3 at Sheff Wed etc etc...
Were those and the 6 at Bolton entirely his fault? Have to say I don't have a good memory on the ones we concede

I don't mind Hoffmann or Patterson, I'm not sure Hoffmann is as shit as some do. Patterson has had the benefit of a manager who can sort a defence out too. Hopefully another 3 clean sheets for Patterson 😬

He looks like he would be the type of person to scream out their pin number as he is being folded into a sports holdall. However he doesn't play like that a very decent GK who is going to get better.
 WTF is that New Jersey you're from ? The Sopranos ?
