What a player best player at Man utd by a long shot imo. Massive fan of him .

Genuinely world class imo.

Anyone agree , or anyone not arsed a jot.

Good goal for Man Us 2nd.

Lovely dive with pike after he was fairly tackled to win the pen for the first.
Good on him I think won the game doing that

Couldn’t really give a fuck
Totally understand this response

The term 'world class' gets thrown around far too much imo. Martial has just had a couple of good weeks of form. He didn't even make the French squad for the World Cup.
Works class if he was more consistent yes. But ability wise he is I think

Given how many of the world’s best players currently are wingers or ‘inside forwards’ and the usual definition of ‘would he make a world eleven?’ He’s probably not what you’d call world class.

Would not probably make into the top 11 forward players at the minute, or even the top 20

I always think the whole "would he make a world eleven?" definition is a bit harsh. For example, that would suggest that only one left back can ever be world class at any one time. I think if you're in the top 5 in your position you're world class. I mean, in the whole world there's, maybe, 4 people who are arguably better than you in the role you play, I'd say that puts you in such a tiny band of elite players that you can count as world class!

Yeah that’s a fair definition.

Martial still wouldn’t fall in that bracket.

If we played mars he wouldn’t even make the provisional squad!!

Good point. Although even 5 is a bit tight.

Aye, I don't mean 5 as a set number, it obviously depends on the quality of players at that time, in some exceptional circumstances there might be 6, 7, 8 or even more that would massively split opinion when it comes to naming the best players in the position. For me, you have to be in the conversation when people discuss the best in the world in your position. And for the record I don't think Martial is near it. Sometimes he turns it on and looks class but to be the best in the world, or in that very top bracket, you need to be doing that more often than not! Consistency is a huge thing with the world's best players, I know they're an exceptional case but look at Messi and Ronaldo, they do it pretty much every time they go on the pitch. Just being able to look class in brief flashes isn't anywhere near enough, he needs to add that consistency
