Another two goals for Johnson Clarke Harris today

No what we do is throw any chance of promotion we had away and ruin months of good work.

Err strikers with a 1 in 2 record cost money
Get a grip man, the play off places have changed hands that many times over the last couple of months. West Brom had a good run then a blip, Blackburn have had a blip then are now looking good, Watford & Norwich we’re in then out then in again. Long way to go yet, win on Saturday we are back in the mix. Pick 4 from 9

Clarke-Harris isn't going to replicate what Ross Stewart does for us man. So say he signed and we went up? Then what? Stuck with a lad on a longer deal (hes not going to leave without security and a payrise) that we've overpaid for who'll sit there for years sponging off the club who we can't shift.

Hes shite, its shite business and thank God we'll be a lot more imaginative in the summer.

If we went up and earned the club 150 million he will have done his job and we could give him away for free. Not that we would have to because a lower league team would buy him.

Ifs and buts, its shite.

Absolutely no suggestion at all that Clarke Harris could do what Ross Stewart does for us. No suggestion at all he'd even fit our system or our style of play or score goals consistently at this level, or even cope with the demands of playing for club that gets 40k at home. Yet here you are STILL banging the same shite drum.

I’m far from convinced Clarke Harris would have made the difference and took us up above teams with far better strikers like Middlesbrough, Watford and Norwich.

1 of his goals yesterday was a penalty. He's a lower league also ran. Get over it.
Do penalties not count now? Ross Stewart’s scored 3 pens this season (including the rebound against Boro), does this mean he’s only on 7 for the season? Should we start knocking tap-ins off strikes tally’s aswell, they’re easier than pens after all. The only goals that count are good goals!

No, but scoring penalties has nothing to do with being a good striker. You can have a goalkeeper/left back/centre back etc who routinely scores penalties, but would be worse than useless playing CF.

It's time to pack it up again and give up if we buying people at the arse end of their career from the lower leagues. Fair enough take a punt on a lower league prospect but I'd like to think the days of overspending on journeymen are over.

That’s not the argument though is it? Folk are devaluing his goals because some of them are penalties, someone even saying his other was from 2 yards. Some strikers have made a living out of such goals and they have exactly the same value as a worldie. Fair enough if people think he’s not good enough but to start devaluing his goals because of their quality is a poor argument.

And if we didn't we'd be stuck with him and his wages would be a hindrance to bringing in a better signing.
That is the gamble but I would argue it is better than doing nothing and ending our season

Well one thing is for sure we have thrown away our promotion chances

It is, partly. Ian Harte scored lots of penalties in his career, but that has no reflection on his ability to play CF.

He wouldn’t go because he’d never get as good an offer again, exactly like Grigg. On a free as 3rd/4th striker then possibly some merit but even then I’d rather we were more imaginative in our recruitment.

Hmm Interesting article

HMM seems like some disagree

If only Sunderland had a centre-forward with Clarke-Harris’ penalty-area instincts; their own promotion prospects diminishing by the week. Black Cats boss Tony Mowbray was left to rue the absence of top scorer Ross Stewart – out for the reason with an ACL tear – as Sunderland suffered a second successive defeat away at Coventry City this weekend.
