Another two goals for Johnson Clarke Harris today

Ifs and buts, its shite.

Absolutely no suggestion at all that Clarke Harris could do what Ross Stewart does for us. No suggestion at all he'd even fit our system or our style of play or score goals consistently at this level, or even cope with the demands of playing for club that gets 40k at home. Yet here you are STILL banging the same shite drum.

I have been saying exactly the same

Clarke-Harris’ record in the Championship is not quite so fearsome. But put him in a frontline containing the creativity of Jack Clarke, Patrick Roberts, Amad Diallo and Alex Pritchard. It would take a brave man to bet against ‘JCH’ hitting double figures at least.
When are we meant to buy him ? Last January ?

Yes when Simms went back and Stewart was injured

Oh, I see the Wicket is using this one article he's found about JCH as argument for everything he spouts in multiple threads. Great.

According to lads I know who support Peterborough said he played well Saturday..... Against a team at the top because he fancied it that game. When, they say, and they watch him every week, sometimes he looks like he can't be arsed. Has a poor attitude, apparently he's not that well liked due to him thinking he's Billy big bollocks and doesn't train that well, throws strops when he doesn't get his way, or gets subbed etc. Sounds class.

But, but, but cos striker...

Aye, no ta

Said this before but their chairman fkn loves to offer of JCH on twitter and in interviews, little bit weird

Doubt he'd have cost 5m in reality but at the same time wouldn't have been cheap

Can we just archive this thread somewhere? I’m sure it must have started on April fools day or something.... just so ridiculous pretty much claiming because we didn’t sign a bang average player who is coming to the late time of his career at a league one club that we have thrown away all promotion prospects and that if we had signed him we would of been guaranteed to go up and earn 150 million. Just haway man have a day off the crack or acid or whatever it is you’re on.

He cost them about 3m iirc and although he scored goals he looked a shit footballer. They've pretty much been trying to sell him since he got promotion with them.

If he was available for 500k taking over his contract to get us to the summer then I'd consider it. But tying him down to a 2 year deal would be an absolute waste. That's why I cannot understand why the club didn't make an offer for someone like Chris Martin simply as an option. We know he's not a long term signing, but given he's 34 and only signed for 6 months what harm would it actually have done given we've not actually got an out and out striker on the books other than Stewart? You wouldn't even have to play him all the time, just a physical option.

The Peterborough chairman claims they have paid 2m in total with add ons but he’s such a gobshite that might include wages and bonuses. The initial fee was reported to be 1.2 m. At that fee to get you promoted from league one he’s probably worth it but not for us on a 2.5 year contract which is what it would probably have been.

No its just common sense . Guy has been listening to me. I said exactly the same

I don't know who he is, that's normal for me, is he any good? What are his strengths and weaknesses?

Was very promising as a youngster, made his debut for Cov at about 16. Since then has generally been a top end league one/bottom of championship striker.
He’s a bit of an all rounder, not massive, not slow, a bit of skill but nowt flash. Alleged to have a bit of an attitude problem but may have grown out of that. Would have been talked about as a bout as good as Wyke in his good season and a bit better than Ladapo or Marquis in league one.

Surely we are going to be able to attract far better than a 'C' list plodder, whose convinced other clubs to switch off their radar.
