Another summer of terrible recruitment

you are correct of course

however the“goalscorer”we bring in will be Danny Graham who is 35

the creative midfield player is still missing

a full back is still missing

our goakeeper situation will cost is endless points next season

Young Neil did more in the centre of the pitch in his spell than the two CM's who started did all game between them.

He wasn't playing in the same position or with the same remit as either of them mind. But that's the problem for me - I'd want him, or someone with his skillset and attributes to be.

He did more in 15 than Gooch had in the previous 75 mind.

We had the opportunity to sign players before the salary cap was introduced. Can we not choose to name some players in the squad also, which means their salaraies do not count? We also have the opportunity to offer incentives based on promotion.

I'm not clued up on if we can leave signed players out and not count them. So someone else might be able to answer that one. I agree with incentives like a promotion bonus, however from a players point of view it's down to them as they are taking a big chance when moving up here.

You'd have to exclude players from the named first team squad, meaning you'd be paying them not to play. You can only have, I think, 22 players over 21 in the squad (dropping to 20 over the next two seasons). Players under 21 on 1 January this year don't count toward the cap.
Seem to be able to, Peterborough have left four contracted players out and made them available for transfer.

But if they can't move them on, they'll still have to pay them for not playing.

Does Madrox owe the club money? About eight or nine million?
Invest that properly and we will go up. Two problems, if they owe any money and actually paying it back and this lot identifying the right players.
AOB decent
Wright decent
Feeney okay
Mathews horrific
Danny Graham horrific
No creative midfielder

the last 3 are the most important imo and we’ve failed massively
Only played friendlies. Can only judge after a run of games.

I agree. We’ve signed too many squad players when we should be going for players better than we had.

We were also ponderous as fuck and didn’t get deals done before the salary cap vote

Where’s the goalscorer we were desperate for? Where are wingers with pace? Where’s the goalscoring creative midfielder we need? Where is the natural right back and a left back who can defend? Seems very much a case of 3rd time lucky with same plodders. Why haven’t we been transfer listing a few players such as Wyke?

totally disagree.
we have improved as well as bringing two players in.
we have a centre forward in our squad who is easily the best in this league. The secret is to pull this out of him and to okay to his strengths.
we have one of the strongest squads in the league again. We need to play a system that suits them.

Didn't realise the transfer window has shut

They were probably saying the same about Kirchhoff after one game. He made a horrible mistake, undoubtedly. but show me a keeper that doesn't.

Wind it in what a rubbish post this is, sick of this same line been rolled out. It’s the same type of post people were saying when we signed Jason Steele for fuck sake. You are aware we can judge him off previous experience?

You can see he’s technically not strong enough to improve the team if you just go back and watch the Bolton highlights last season. One of those keepers that only looks okay because he’s facing that many shots and has no liability.

I didn’t realise the window had shut, we don’t play with wingers gooch and Maguire both got over ten goals Hume has loads of pace , next Piece of bullshit please embarrassing

alrhough I am not a Parkinson basher, he doesn’t like to bring the young ones through.
I've asked this, as a genuine question, a number of times on here but haven't got an answer, but what's this based on?

I thought he had a reasonable reputation in this regard. I always thought his Bradford team had a fair few youngsters. He was willing to give Pickford a big opportunity, Billy Knott was a mainstay of his side etc. Then at Bolton he brought a few through too didn't he? Granted that may have been born out of necessity rather than choice with their embargoes.

Mind, even if that is the case, the pressures here and the remit given by the ownership do decrease the likelihood of him giving youth a chance unfortunately.

We can’t buy a striker until we shift wyke and grigg who is a proven scorer at this level anyway prob the best record in the league

So you have complete faith in Phil's judgement? Good luck with that.
Every manager we've had over the last twenty years (apart from sam Allardyce) has ended up being a massive failure Parkinson will either change that or not time will tell..

I think (might be wrong) it’s based off with interviews with fans from his previous club with our fanzines when he first took over. I remember they were pretty unanimous that he only played them when he absolutely had to, even when it was obviously the experienced pros weren’t good enough (Bolton fans being particularly annoyed by that)
