I keep getting a pop up notifying me that my computer is low on memory. I close it, and then as soon as I press anything on the keyboard it comes up again. Restarting the laptop makes it go away but it's a pain in the arse.

I've brought up task manager while it's been on and both CPU usage and Physical memory seem to be fine. I'm not that smart with computers like so I'm probably missing something glaringly obvious.

Anyone got any idea how to make this stop?

press CTRL, ALT, DEL,END, ESC, F8, INS, F2, all at the same time the reboot.

you should be ok then

Use Crap Cleaner and then turn system restore off, update spybot and restart in safe mode, (reboot and keep pressing F5).
Run spybot as administrator and any shit will be gone.
Then reboot and turn system restore back on again.

Cheers, if the scan I'm doing now finds nothing I'll try that

you will have more pleasure solving it yourself man

Sounds dangerous

Nah I did a google of the problem and found the general kind of talk there but I was more worried that the programme that was telling me my memory was low was one I can't find and haven't heard of before.

Had a problem a few months back and someone linked me to a tool for dealing with a specific piece of malware (the one that fucks up your google searches) so I like this place as a resource!

could be your hard drive filling up......right click and check properties.
by default windows leaves 10% of the drive for the swap file so if the drive fills up you will get the error.
yeh, i know the drive is not 'ram' as most would expect for a memory fault but the swap file is used as 'extra ram'.
if the drive is full get into controlpanel and remove any progs you no longer use/need.

Sounds to me that your computer is forgetting it has enough memory. How old is it? Does it keep getting your name wrong?

Checked this and I've still got just over 25$ free, so I shouldn't be having that problem yet should I?

Does it say you are running short of virtual memory?

What exactly does the error message say?

I was just about to ask the same. If it is then it can be easily fixed, just a case of setting a larger amount of virtual memory in the system settings.

I'm not going to get any help here am I

it isnt Windows Low Level Solution is it bud? If so, you have a major task ahead.

Spy Doctor and Avast are the first thing you need to download, but having had this previously I know how much of a bastard it is to remove, as you can't download any software, as it closes windows (browser) as soon as you open it
