Annual pay rise lottery

Hoping for a promotion before pay review in march so can get a double benefit. Let's see.

I'm stuck at the top of my grade so until I get a promotion then pay rises will be minimal. Trouble is that they have been very tight with giving out promotions. I got turned down for one last year despite an "above expectation" rating and glowing reviews. Their plan seems to be to encourage people to quit so that they can be replaced with cheaper staff on a lower grade.

Bit the bullet, asked for everyone in my dept to get a cost of living despite us NEVER getting one.

Was told by the millionaire owner who did bother to answer, no, we don’t need it.

Needless to say, I leave in January

What did you ask for a one of payment or a inflation based pay rise?

Being a pensioner at 10.1% of 8177 it will be an extra 826 tax free making it 9003 pa. The private pensions not sure but it won't be 10.1% because I
don't think they are inflation linked. However it sure helps you budget when you know where you stand. Probably still put the heating on next month mind.

Asked for a cost of living raise, when shot down I said how about 250 each for Christmas (they never give us Christmas bonus either). Same answer.
Our place gave us £500 in October (was £250 for some people based on attendance and other conditions) and we are getting another £500 in December. This was after negotiations with Unite, doubt we would have got it otherwise.

Payrise is due in April but talks haven't started yet. The big rise in the NLW will put pressure on them to offer us more than usual I hope.

Our lass got 8% on weds out of the blue which has helped.

I know how much we make as I’m a sr in the company, and it’s so f’ing shite their attitude. They cut our staff by over half and just given the work to us on top of everything else. We ask for a simple bit of help and nowt.

Our lass got 2k a year which is the biggest rise she has ever had. Bet she doesn't get one next year but it's still a good rise.

Union rep has told me they have worked out the profit made per member of staff at our place and considering last year was up and down productivity wise it is a very healthy profit so they have no excuse not to give us a decent rise after years of giving us the bare minimum.

Oh aye. Just seems the bubble needs to burst at some point though or housebuilding will be fucked longterm.
Think as the last recession, builders will switch back to mainly semi's (affordable) as people will realise they can't really afford the 4/5 bed detached executive homes, whilst grafting in factorys and on sites (when rates aren't 1%)
Builders have already resubmitted plans for sites.

Was on Rightmove earlier and there is a 3 bed semi on my estate which has been sold and the asking price was more than the 4 bed detacheds were to buy new 7 years ago.

We've been told ours is 1% :D
Wouldn't even come close to covering the increase in food shopping alone, never mind everything else. The Union are doing their nut.
