Aye. Does seem as though it will all come crashing down after Christmas. The current climate makes covid look like a walk in the park tbf. Next year is going to be horrendous for hospitality I reckon.
Wey the teeside region of the housebuilder that I contract for only has 3 sales for next year across 8 sites, sounds bed unless something drastic happens mate, last recession housing went, the car manufacturers then other industries followed, hope I'm wrong likeYou reckon it's going to get that bad mate?
same graft as any job...It’s shit that but people on cushy wages etc or decent working rights have usually put the draft in to get there.
Aye I'm worried as well (car industry). Don't think my job is in any immediate danger but there could be some crap times coming up. Saying that it's been crap for about 5 years.Wey the teeside region of the housebuilder that I contract for only has 3 sales for next year across 8 sites, sounds bed unless something drastic happens mate, last recession housing went, the car manufacturers then other industries followed, hope I'm wrong like

Sorry he hear that mate. Giving your staff a 10% rise makes you a good employer. Hope your fortunes turn round. We’re giving our staff a 10% rise but since we told them we do that things have turned to shit and we’re probably going to go bust so instead of a 10% rise they’ll probably end up without a job. Shit, shit and more shit.
Will have -100% after xmas when all the sites mothball due to everyone panicking and spending nowt thanks to C.O.L and crazy interest rates.
These striking over a few % want to thank there lucky stars they are on cushy salaries
I'd imagine lots of plans will change as belts tighten like, until jobs have started they're easily cancelled/postponedHow about the domestic market, do you think?
Most tradies will be booked out for most of next year already, won’t they?
This, mate's son and his missus have pulled the plug on their extension which they were gonna have done.I'd imagine lots of plans will change as belts tighten like, until jobs have started they're easily cancelled/postponed
Nice 1 ricci3% here, however just paid off a fuck load of debt this year so fortunate to be still better off after bills.
Still haven’t had ours for this year yet. Apparently it’s been sat waiting for sign off but nobody’s been in charge long enough to sign off on it.Be lucky to get 2%.
Industrial action is planned, so hoping that puts some pressure on the government.
Work for the NHS, got £900 annual rise in April, then they re-introduced car parking charges which are £25/month![]()
good luck mate.Stagecoach here - our fight for better pay is still ongoing. Things are getting messy now.
We had strikes in for last week which got cancelled due to a new ballot - rejected by 78%.
Strikes were then due for next week but have been suspended due to Stagecoach supposedly implementing a new law from a different strike down South. Apparently a new high court ruling means that companies can individually interview employees to whether they want to accept a pay offer or not.
Basically, unions mean fuck all anymore and the ballot is worthless.
There’s also rumours of Stagecoach preparing to Fire and Rehire.
Well I know for a fine fact they’ll be fucked if they do that. There’s already numerous drivers on the verge of putting their notice in after the shite of the past few months.
Fair point.I'd imagine lots of plans will change as belts tighten like, until jobs have started they're easily cancelled/postponed
Material costs will still be high, but the security from your nearest building site might of been sacked due to cost cutting...So do you reckon next year might be a good time to get an extension done?
