Looks like he's announced the end of his career.

    No from me too.

Difficult to choose who is though. Sort of people I'm thinking:

    Steve Redgrave
    Alastair Cook
    Daley Thompson
    Chris Hoy
    Lee Cattermole
    Ronnie O'Sullivan
Paula Radcliffe (if we're allowed sports women too)
    Steve Cram
    Sebastian Coe
    Nick Faldo

I'm sure I'll have missed other obvious contenders.

What he has achieved in arguably the greatest era of tennis is nothing short of phenomenal. We even won a Davis cup FFS. Greatest British tennis player ever.

I don't get the hate. Top bloke, survived Dunblane, does loads for charity's and doesn't take himself seriously.

Hopefully he can get through it to a Wimbledon farewell.
  13. Wanted England to lose at football. Therefore I hate him. I hate him so much. He’s a disgrace to Britain.

It's difficult to compare eras, particularly if you go back to pre-war days. It's fair to say that Murray is the greatest British player of the open era though.

I’m no expert in tennis, so genuine question... is it really?

    Fair point well made...

I suppose he just shades Jeremy Bates... :)
  17. Gutted for him, he’s carried British Tennis for over a decade.

Should have probably won more Grand slams but for me the way he contributed to our Davis Cup win was was nothing short of remarkable.
