But that's the point. If we are expected to take it on the chin, why can't women? Surely if they are sensible and reasonable enough to do the same jobs as we do they can take the same stick as we give to each other?

In time women and other previously disadvantaged groups will have to live up to the same standards, the double standards is because of the position of disadvantage in employment they are coming from. It will sort itself out in time.

I just don't agree that you'd get sacked in a normal workplace for making a joke about a women.

If I made any discriminatory comments and it was reported to HR I'd be dismissed; though I'd more than likely be given the chance to jump before the disciplinary hearing.

Looks as if he was stitched up.

Durham on Talkshite , is commenting the on air comments made by Gray.

But these comments were made OFF AIR , recorded and leaked by a mole within SKY itself.

Smells very very fishy

Positive discrimination will hinder that progress I feel. Nobody who lives in the real world thinks it's a good idea and only serves to widen divides.

It is actually. You're assuming she's doing it because of the pressure. Perhaps she just doesn't want to be the number one attraction?

Plenty male footballers have pulled out of actually playing in games when they have been under media scrutiny, many of whom had to be replaced my reserves or inferior squad members. That's the same thing but you just carry on, don't mention that. Keep putting  faces and everything you post will seem correct.

He's definitely going to be your Anakin Skywalker marra.

Maybe now the BBC will swoop for him and get rid of the shower of shite that is MOTD and give it a good shake up/transformation.

So very, very happy about this.

The sacking is a little harsh - though his comments were reprehensible, it's clearly a more political decision.

But as a Sky subscriber, the prospect of Gray-free viewing is magnificent. Keys has to walk too.

And Redknapp and Merson. And Thompson. Hoddle anarl.

Think it was inevitable that he had to go. People can talk about double-standards etc (if you ask me the Loose Women are a prime example) but thats not an excuse for him stepping out of line.

Having said that, the below story is one that people are pointing to about Andy Gray's sexism - to be honest, I burst out laughing at the vid on here as well though - not laughing because they're female but because they're just crap footballers and it's funny!

Why are you still having a discussion about Sexism? He wasn't sacked for Sexism, he was sacked because he was suing Rupert Murdoch.
