But he wasn't making a joke he was being serious and insinuating that she couldn't do her job because she's a woman. It's not on to be honest.

He got sacked for the footage just been released relating to last december. The comments over the weekend didn't help

Way OTT.

Gray might be a kernt but sacking him would be 'political correctness gone mad'.

Would anyone raise an eyebrow about a women not understanding offside joke on say, a league of their own?

That could be viewed as a sexist joke. Would HR care? Would they fuck. They would probably laugh at you and tell you to stop being such a fanny and get on with it.

But if a bloke said something about a woman being too dippy to realise her microphone was still on, she'd be given a months sick leave, given counselling, sexual harrasment compo and the lad concerned sacked.

Surely a woman can make jokes about being a woman and not worry about it. Like a black man making black jokes, or a gay man making gay jokes.

Or me making jokes about myself. I say things about myself from time to time that if somebody else said them about me would offend me.

I've said it on the SMB, which is appropriate. The SMB is not my workplace.

Sadly, I agree with this.

On 'Loose Women' a few weeks ago, one of the (female) presenters was talking about male nurses and actually used the phrase "Do me a favour..." (the exact same phrase used by Keys towards Brady's comments iirc).

She got a standing ovation from the (predominantly female) audience.

A women wouldn't have been sacked over this. One rule for one etc etc. Just my opinion of course.

A woman wouldn't have been sacked over making remarks about another woman's performance? No. Just in the same way Andy Grey hasn't been sacked for all the comments he has made about the performance of male referees and linesmen over the years.

It's ok saying someone is shite, or can't do a job - but to say their ability is determined by pre-determined criteria like race/sex is wrong.

My point was that Liz made a joke that as a woman, she would have realised her microphone was still on. That could be loosely described as sexist.

I was simply saying if a man went to his HR department after hearing a joke made by women about "stupid men" or whatever he'd probably be told to fuck off.
