Well, thats the sly era over for Andy gray ! 18 years of hearing is voice on a sunday afternoon has gone...he did go on a bit like, but i did'nt mind him...

A bunch of women sitting around a table invariably talking bollocks and usually end up going on about the silly things men do.

Reverse that, and it would be viewed as sexist.

It's either sexist or it isn't. If it bothers you that much it's a case of filling out a form on the OFCOM website.

Not trying to be smart here, just saying that two wrongs don't make a right.

I've seen plenty of comics on TV make a dig at women. It's not my taste but it's just stupid comedy.

Granted, LW is hard to class as comedy but it's the same. You need to grow a set if it offends you. Or just switch it off.

Well past his sell buy date, just an arrogant twat who thought he was untouchable. As for the Loose Slappers well they are something else!!!!

One of the LW presenters said "do me a favour..." when discussing male nurses and got a standing ovation from the audience. Isn't that the exact situation, genders roles reversed, as Gray and Keys?

What - "Male nurses. Do me a favour..." Is that what she said? Are you sure?

:lol::lol:

Are people really saying that?

ffs loose women aims itself and brands itself to women. A bit of healthy sexism there is fine! Just as a working mans club comedy act can have a bit of chauvanism in if it feels like it!

Football makes bold claims about being a unifying force; one game, one community - somewhere where everyone is welcome. It is also trying to develop talent of all races and genders.

Completely and utterly different!

I agree to some extent in terms of banter etc, but the difference is a comedy act is trying to get a laugh out of something unrelated to them for the benefit of some punters who are laughing becasue they know it is offensive - Gray was questionning the ability of the lineswoman to do her job (and did it in a snide and derogatory way) simply because she is a woman, and you just can't do that anymore and nor should you be able to

Says who? It's not viewed as sexist as no one formally complains.

You are missing a trick here. You are right that OFCOM may well uphold the complaint but OFCOM are not the be all and end all. To suggest that what is viewed as sexist depends on what is complained is below your usual level of intelligent debate.

Whatever your views on sexism, there is a clear difference between both the media and general publics views of sexism towards men and sexism towards women. The Loose Women male nurse example someone highlighited is a perfect example of this as the incidents are essentially the same in terms of sexist content yet we saw no such media shit storm.

I can see both sides of it tbh, they were off air so it was banter they thought was between each other nowt more. Imagen if people around the country were held to this nee fucker would have a job. However gray and keyes are annoying wankers so im glad at least one of them is gone fingers crossed for the other.

To them it was just banter but to anyone with a brain it was really offensive - hopefully they've learned that now. If they'd been two nobodies going on like that down the pub then that would be OK - they'd just be tedious wankers that no-one wants to shag. But at work it's a disciplinary, especially in the context, and quite right.

I think he's a wanker like but the football on Sky's not gonna be the same now like! it will be wierd not seeing that twat mess about with his gadgets and be constantly bumming Sir Alex!

i remember one sunderland game last season i was listening to on century radio and the commentator was a women. now, im not sexist but it was horrendous. not because it was a women but because women commentators in football are not as good as their male counterparts. i remember at the time there was a thread on here all saying the same thing and i like many others switched channels to bbc newcastle. in this instance its my opinion that women shouldnt commentate as i dont like it. the BBC also have a woman who occasionally commentates also and she too is awful.

does that make us all sexist?

not really bothered about andy gray but fuckin hell did he really deserve the sack. i appreciate that his comments were ' distasteful ' but haway man. the country has gone mad incase someone upsets someone else.
