Andy Gray Sacked

Think it was inevitable that he had to go. People can talk about double-standards etc (if you ask me the Loose Women are a prime example) but thats not an excuse for him stepping out of line.

Having said that, the below story is one that people are pointing to about Andy Gray's sexism - to be honest, I burst out laughing at the vid on here as well though - not laughing because they're female but because they're just crap footballers and it's funny!

The Loose Women example that people keep trotting out is a bit silly imo.

If people really think it's sexist then they should complain to OFCOM.

It is actually. You're assuming she's doing it because of the pressure. Perhaps she just doesn't want to be the number one attraction?

Plenty male footballers have pulled out of actually playing in games when they have been under media scrutiny, many of whom had to be replaced my reserves or inferior squad members. That's the same thing but you just carry on, don't mention that. Keep putting  faces and everything you post will seem correct.

She has to lift a flag up & down at Cresty Road, with her back to the crowd !!?!? If that is the problem then their is something wrong.

Atwell had to face the fans & ref a game after he 'did' cock up big time (the phantom goal) and that got hordes of coverage.

Looks as if he was stitched up.

Durham on Talkshite , is commenting the on air comments made by Gray.

But these comments were made OFF AIR , recorded and leaked by a mole within SKY itself.

Smells very very fishy

Another journalist on Talk sport has just mentioned an 'old boys network' at sky sports which wasn't well regarded by the staff. Seems to me like it's being going on too long and should have been adressed some time ago.

It can't be nice for a woman (or anyone) working in that environment where they have to shrug off snide comments on a regular basis.

Why are you still having a discussion about Sexism? He wasn't sacked for Sexism, he was sacked because he was suing Rupert Murdoch.

Listen marra, I've got a boss Skoda I nicked yesterday. Interested? You can doughnut in car parks and everything or whatever you scousers amuse yourselves with.

No it isn't. It's a prime example.

A male format of that program wouldn't even make the producer's office.

I'm not a vegetable.

Or a thief. Or a joyrider.

Wouldn't need to as the majority of shows on tv have an overtly male emphasis anyway. You simply wouldn't need to make that show.

One of the LW presenters said "do me a favour..." when discussing male nurses and got a standing ovation from the audience. Isn't that the exact situation, genders roles reversed, as Gray and Keys?

Sexist.

I don't see where there's double standards here. Imagine a couple of female teachers in a primary school slagging off a colleague because "men shouldn't teach kids, they don't even know the alphabet, bet he looks good in drag, the nancy" - how do you imagine they would escape being disciplined?

Mind you the fact I can't imagine that conversation with any realism, whereas I would probably die of shock if a female ref DIDN'T get shite from a bunch of supposed professionals, points at blokes having it just a bit easier.

And don't try and argue that Andy Gray would have made the comments he did about a bloke, that's just nonsense.

Then complain.

I hate Loose Women, and would love to see the presenters burned as witches. The situation you describe does indeed sound sexist.

:lol::lol:

Are people really saying that?

ffs loose women aims itself and brands itself to women. A bit of healthy sexism there is fine! Just as a working mans club comedy act can have a bit of chauvanism in if it feels like it!

Football makes bold claims about being a unifying force; one game, one community - somewhere where everyone is welcome. It is also trying to develop talent of all races and genders.

Completely and utterly different!
