Amorim turning the tide?

Fair play to them for scoring 2 extra against 10 men watch out Liverpool …. Wouldn’t even be confident of them beating a crap Leicester on Sunday
The goals they scored are immaterial. The important thing is that they are showing signs of starting to play well in purely footballing terms: passing, work rate, having a game plan, etc.
The Utd titanic will take an awful long time to turn around, but with Amorim at the helm they might avoid sinking.

I’ll bump this when Leicester beat them on Sunday

Amorim is a good coach but he has a massive job on his hands as they are nowt more than a mid table premier league side
And his job is to transform them into a top 4 side, a task that will take 2 or 3 years in the best of cases. Vital, as always, is recruitment, something which Utd have been, to say the least, awful at.

See ya Sunday Bear!

The signs are that green shoots are timidly sprouting out of the Man Utd wasteland..A stubborn performance that could have been a victory against Arsenal, followed by tonight's clear win over a top Spanish side are indications that Amorin is doing a good job with the limited resources available. Reports talk of energy, crisp passing and players actually enjoying themselves. Dorgu and Zirkee seem to have excelled alongside the inevitable Fernandes. Light at the end of the tunnel?
He made an interesting point in his presser afterwards when he said they were physically stronger than Sociedad as the Spanish league is nowhere near as physical as the EPL. They still get bullied by prem teams.
They can't make any progress without a top class striker though and I'm not sure Ratcliffe will sanction the wages needed to bring one in. They have some promising youngsters (been impressed with Ayden Heaven) but they need time and still need a massive overhaul. New spine needed in the summer really, keeper, central midfielder & striker.

I wish Madrid got bullied by English teams. Spanish teams do quite well against English teams in general as they usually have quite a high level in terms of technique.
Your biggest problem at the moment is finding someone who scores goals. I thought Osimhen was supposed to be coming in January. What happened?

Ratcliffe wouldn't spend the money in January, nor would he spend the money to get him out of his Turkish loan agreement which I think was 10m for them to negotiate a loan to buy deal.
He's suppposedly on the radar for summer with Napoli reputedly ready to take Hojlund in a cut price part exchange.

Gykores would be the obvious target but I'm not convinced, he will probably have better options than United and is unproven in a top quality league. I reckon they will probably end up with Liam Delap from Ipswich who is a tidy player but not somebody who can push them to the next level IMO.

He seems to get away with being really poor, probably because he gives the media plenty of time. No matter how shot you think Ten Hag was, he won 2 trophies and qualified for the CL by league position. Let’s see how long that take Amorim to do.

Osimhen for Hojlund? Snap their fingers off..
Gykores will be big money and as you say not proven at this level. You can't afford any more expensive failures.

Well it wouldn't be a straight swap
Napoli supposedly want 65m and are supposedly prepared to pay something like 15/20m for Hojlund.
Would still leave them short a back up striker though so unless he has the confidence a 17yo Obi-Martin can step up I'd probably give Hojlund another season as sub striker. He showed glimpses of a decent player last season but looks shot to bits now.

hope they get relegated, go bust and end up in the wastelands literally and metaphorically and I want it all to happen while sir alec's still alive to see it there mate. detestable club
Gobbled up a mag 12 point lead and caused Keegan to have an absolute gigantic meltdown, got a bit of a soft spot for them me.
