Americans see Jozy a lot differently than we do, don't they.

I found myself watching Dutch league football at 5am. I’d set four alarms, roll off my bed, and open my computer into Western Europe. Some nights I wouldn’t sleep, and I’d stare into the night, desperate to be sure I could enter that world.

Sleep, sleep, tweet, goal, sleep.

But when my eyes opened on those early mornings, the sense of achieved consciousness didn’t arrive. I felt myself half-dreaming, somewhere far away from a college dorm. I was somewhere in the elusive heart of Holland, with Jozy Altidore as my guide. It’s less strange than it sounds.

etc etc etc

He's one of those players I want to do well and I'm trying desperately to like but I just don't rate him at all.

We've seen glimpses, 1st half against Chelsea in the league for example but overall he has been very poor.

He's just not good enough for a top league

As much as I don't like describing a player as a @Plank, I think it's a perfect description of Jozy.

He's got some good attributes (not many of them technical), but he just stands around like a bit of an oaf and expects things to happen instead of looking to instigate them himself. We should show him videos of Kenwyne's first season here and tell him that's how you use your physical stature to your advantage. For such a strong man he's a right big girl's blouse.

He's like wickham for a 6ft odd bloke easily pushed off the ball

He may be suited more to international football than Prem League football
He cannot control a ball. His runs are in straight lines. He cannot jump more than two inches off the ground. Unless he is moving he is not strong, an inidcation that he does not know instinctively how to use his body.
I fail to see how he is a premier league standard footballer at the moment. If he stays and if we go down then I can see him doing well in the championship as he did in Holland as he will get the space to run into, but for now and for what we needed, not good enough.

I personally still struggle to work out how people can criticise our strikers for being poor this season when they are averaging around 2 shots/chances per game, often in shit positions to boot! Jozy Altidore is a very good striker when happy and confident as all strikers can be, however this season we are so mind numbingly poor on the ball in midfield he must be crying every time he sees Larsson get the ball and attempt to pass it to him.

In Jozy and Fletches position of being the lone man up top with no midfield runners getting in behind me I'd be going mental at them in training! It'd do my head in!

This whole season is a write off. Forget the Jozy we see this year, forget the Giacc we've seen, hopefully next season no matter where we are, we will see a VERY different team than this one! The one player we can't forget is Adam Johnson cause he's shite!

Add in his anticipation is poor and I totally agree with this.
If he was a white jock we had signed from stranraar hebwould not get the slack he has. Look jow quickly everyone was all over Graham
