Amazon

I had to order a pair of pillows, I had been using a travel neck pillow but it wasn't doing the job as a side sleeper, they better turn up before happy valley starts 😜

Funny because in other contexts when Amazon is mentioned here they are the worst thing in the world. Ruining the high Street , paying their workers shit wages and treating them like slaves while paying no taxes.

Prime is great value, just need to remember to pay the year up front this time rather than monthly.
We get loads of deliveries and also watch prime video
It's been going longer than that. I think my first Amazon order was in 1998. I had been looking for a book then someone suggested I use this new website called Amazon.
Yes my first order was books I think 97/98ish, I definitely bought IT books in 2000

None of that matters when people get stuff cheap and quickly 🤣

And they make most of their money from Amazon Web Services, their cloud computing division.

Yep. You may want to boycott Amazon as a retailer but it is impossible to avoid AWS.

Not all of their workers are in warehouses and delivery vans. Amazon have also created a huge number of jobs in tech, logistics, data science and other well paid areas.

Bought a picture frame for my mackem
Mishmash.
Started in Denmark, went to Belgium, then France, then Kent, then the midlands then the northeast. Took 5 days.
Surely no money is made due to the amount of travel! Was only £25, worse thing is I don’t like it and gonna get a different one

But , but the SMB is the natural home of Socialism. There are no hypocrites here.
You all for capitalism and rampant profiteering though. You absolutely love to not feed our own when the overseas budget was cut .

you also think that people can’t budget and should exist on mince . They also should not have a telly, socialise or go on holiday

hypocrite indeed. I won’t be reading the usual in reply right wing Tory shite

"Paul Monaghan, the chief executive of the Fair Tax Foundation, said: “The number Amazon still refuses to disclose is exactly how much profit it makes in the UK in total and what tax it pays on this. This is despite many requests from not just civil society campaigners, but also now a significant number of their institutional investors.
“It appears Amazon is growing its market domination across the globe on the back of income that is largely untaxed – allowing it to unfairly undercut local businesses that take a more responsible approach.”

Amazon handed £1m UK tax credit as profits surge 60% to £204m.

There’s little doubt they provide a great service.

It is for each individual and their own conscience to decide whether or not to use Amazon based on their immense levels of tax avoidance.
