Alnmouth Mackems

One of the worst posts I’ve seen on here (that’s saying something)

Sons (and daughters) should be brought up to follow their dad’s teams. I’ve lived all over (now East Durham) and all my kids are Sunderland daft.

People take exception (and rightly so) to turncoats from the pit villages in Co Durham as they’ve always been Sunderland strongholds until Keegan and now the Saudis.

Folk up in Northumberland will have had the birth right passed on through generations and deserve credit for bringing up their kids/grand kids properly.

Turncoats? Seriously how many lads fans do you know who now support the mags? I don't know of any.

The way some are going on you'd think we had 1000s of fans pre 1992 who were Sunderland daft who now support them. That's simply not the case.

The bottom line is that Durham Mags and Northumberland mackems are one and the same and that is football supporters who support a football team fairly local to them.

Should we stop supporting Sunderland ?

At a a time when we’re loosing supporters in what were traditionally Sunderland areas we should be celebrating and not looking to alienate sections of our fanbase.

John Hall did a great job in creating the “geordie nation” and trying to kill off Sunderland / Co Durham communities. Bad parenting continues that today. The amount of Saudi shirt I see in the likes of Penshaw, Fencehouses, Houghton & even Murton / Seaham is sickening.

Doesn’t make no odds where someone is from for me if their lads fans & from good families who have passed on the curse 😉

well a right propa good morning to you mate, just aback of the Shanky high pit road, thas a branch here?
No branch here mate, the only one in our area is South East Northumberland branch. They do a bus to home games which leaves from Ashington. We're just a self-appointed Cramlington branch. Haha.

Yes, I know a lot from South Shields for a start. The amount of Saudi shirts I see in East Durham / just outside of the city boundaries is shocking.

Mostly scruffy looking tbf who I doubt attend the mosque on the hill.

Any Sunderland fan born in Northumberland should be viewed the same as any Mag born in County Durham. Anything else is ripe hypocrisy. They are one of the same. We haven't won anything for 50 years, the mags haven't won anything since colour TV was invented so it hasn't been success that has sorted one fanbase from the other. Just attention seekers trying to go against the grain.
Utter bollocks, I was born in County Durham, since I've lived over here I've never met a finer set of Sunderland fans, loads on my bus do most the aways, absolutely live their lives dedicated to the lads. Loads have links to the pits or shipyards, some don't but it doesn't stop their commitment to SAFC.

You're doing a good job of proving my point about Northumberland lads fans marra

If we can slag off mags from Durham then surely our fans that live in "their" catchment area should be treated the same.

Surely anything else is just mass hypocrisy.
What on earth are you talking about?
Durham mags largely jumped on the bandwagon in '92 - fact.
Most Newcastle/Northumberland SAFC are from a long line of family supporters.
Again a simple fact.
You're talking out of your arse and making an even bigger one of yourself.

My kids were both born in Ashington and infact have never lived in Sunderland ever, unlike me, born and bred, so to start I’ll tell my son he cannot go to Blackburn on Wednesday cancel your day off, I’ll refund him for his trip to Texas pre season, I’ll also refund him for his season ticket, ill Strip his safc wallpaper off and put his Sunderland bedding in the bin, I’ll teach him to say Cuuuury, instead of curry, and then ask him if he wants to follow The blyth.

Exactly that.

No you're just being a massive hypocrite. You don't know the reasons for any individual supporting Sunderland or them. You're simply pulling facts out of your backside. The sooner people accept that whilst we have plenty of fans in Northumberland that the same rule will apply to the mags having plenty of fans in Co Durham the better.

So am I meant to support them unwashed lot like? I apologise for being Northumbrian born and bred but following Sunderland.
