Alnmouth Mackems

Lot in Morpeth too.

I'm now in cramlington and there are some here too. Mainly a mag infestation though never seen as many barcodes in any other Northumberland town.

Good to know marra. In the year and half I've been here yet to go to the shops without seeing a scum shirt.
been in Crammy for nigh on 5 years now,and ya right, the place needs fumigating

Schooled in cramlington in the 90s and it’s 90% mags round there

The SAFC lads was a bit like a secret society

Most of us had dads from Sunderland area who had moved up for work or by bad judgement but kept the red and white in the family veins

I’ve escaped the place now thankfully, they were unbearable in the Keegan era and I expect the same currently

But can’t fault the Northumberland safc contingent for having a strong backbone

Unbearable when they were doing well but also funny to be up close and personal when the wheels fell off

Them chucking away the title in 1996 was a pleasure to watch

There was a school assembly around that time when they were particularly rabid and all started chanting toon toon black and white army and running around, smashed up the school library and everyone got sent home at about 10am

I walked home on my own shaking my head at the divvies then had an afternoon playing Sensible Soccer on my Amiga 500. My mam made me a bacon buttie when I got home. Decent day. FTM
They love smashing things up those f*****s pity help the poor f****r playing the mule in the nativity play

Any Sunderland fan born in Northumberland should be viewed the same as any Mag born in County Durham. Anything else is ripe hypocrisy. They are one of the same. We haven't won anything for 50 years, the mags haven't won anything since colour TV was invented so it hasn't been success that has sorted one fanbase from the other. Just attention seekers trying to go against the grain.

Good lord.

Where does one start.

A massive difference; Durham mags increased massively after 1992. SAFC support in Northumberland is over decades with very little success.

There was someone on another thread a while back told me to support my team ‘Newcastle’. Was it you? I think it may have been as I’m sure you certainly have had a dig in the past. Pretty sad and disrespectful behaviour imho and we don’t deserve it giving the quantity and quality of the support.

Not Northumberland but I drove through Gateshead town centre last week and there was a lad who looked in his 20s sat on a wall wearing our away shirt. It raised a smile.

What's your opinion on my Newcastle born Daughter supporting the lads?

I was born in the Midlands and supported Sunderland my whole life. What does that make me then 🙈😁

Born in Northumberland, lived there my whole life.
Brought up as a Sunderland supporter, taken to my first game in 1965, been in a crowd as low as 8,500 for a league game at Roker Park, went to all nine games in the 1973 cup run, have hardly missed a home game since 1971.
Attention seeker?
Are you being serious?

Hope your tongue is firmly in your cheek.
If not, who should my kids support? One born in London the other in Huddersfield. Brought up in north Northumberland by me, who was born in the Durham coalfield and taken to see the lads at 4 years old.
The kids went to a small village school split equally between the mags and Man U.
We are SMBs through and through, should we all be Mags?
F*** that.

@mackembhoy @doodlebugs - Haway the NE23 Branch. Northburn here. Whereabouts are you? I'll often wear a Sunderland top while out walking my Beagle in summer. Keep an eye out.

You're either on a WUM or thick as pig shit. The Northumberland connections come from pit connections and pit workers going to both games and because of Sunderland being a coalfield having better connections and sticking with them. It's nothing like someone supporting Sunderland all their life and then suddenly next day is the biggest Newcastle supporter.

There's nothing wrong with County Durham Mag's. There's a problem with County Durham Geordie wannabe's. I'm sure there's plenty fans down that way who have legit reasons for supporting them who don't go round wearing a mag top at every oppurtunity and don't try to put on a fake Geordie accent. They're not the people who are generally frowned about though.

Also someone born in Alnmouth isn't a Mackem but that's for another thread imo.

My 3 lads all born and raised in Newcastle.
I would loved to have seen you call any one of them 'attention seekers' at Loftus Road on Saturday

All my family are from north east Willington in Durham. All support Sunderland. Came down to work in the coal mines when there was no work.
Hence me supporting the lads 👍

F*** that.

If we're going to slag off Durham mags we need to pay to same rules to lads fans from Northumberland otherwise it just makes us look like massive hypocrites.
