Alnmouth Mackems

Great to see Alnmouth Mackems flag on On the Road (3:30 in).

When you see the rise in Saudi tops its good to see our support in Northumberland is still strong. We know we have great support in Ashington, Blyth, Ellington and Newbiggin by the Sea but great to see further afield too.

Anyone on here?

Not Northumberland but a wee bit further up the coast.

Was away in St Abbs recently, we are there a lot. Chatting with one of the ladies who co owns the School House Cafe, she explained her son is going to college to study to be a grounds keeper re Golf and Football etc. I mentioned the new SOL hybrid pitch and Roker Parks beautiful irish turf. Anyhow she says oh my next door neighbour is Sunderland daft and goes to all the games, think she said he's a police officer too. Not sure but I think she lives in Eyemouth.

The very next day we were outside the visitors centre taking in the view when a fella appeared and was flying a very expensive drone out over the harbour etc. He finished his flight and got chatting with us, turned out he was a Glasgow Rangers fan, living and working in Duns, we discussed SAFC and he mentioned a Sunderland fan from his workplace that gets to the games.

Coincidentally we spent a week in Alnmouth in May then again in June and I did notice a Sunderland top on a washing line. So many of the properties are holiday lets though so wasn't sure if belonging to a resident or not. Next time we are there I'll pledge my allegiance in the Red Lion and see if I get a pay on the back or a pint glass in the neck...

Bet you didn’t see any black and white shirts on the washing line 😉

Good to hear.

was in Alnmouth a few weeks back and saw a lad out running in SAFC training gear, again good to see.

Yeah it’s mine 😁😁
Also a cracking photo in the Echo ... not sure what number out was, you'll have to go through them ... The 58 brilliant photos of Sunderland fans as 2,983 away end watch 3-1 QPR win
I served with him, hence the OAFAAF underneath us
