Plausible deniability! What Byrne did aye. Allardyce was told that the suspension was lifted and he was allowed to play him. He didn't have the insight Byrne did so what was he supposed to do ?
I remember his winless run over Christmas and people arent here weren’t happy
Doubt he would have left Preston for a rolling contractThe only reason for BSA to comeback would be for pure egotistical reasons, he doesn't need the money and at his age he certainly doesn't need the hassle or stress. No the only reason he might consider a return would be to prove a point. The point being that we have gone right down the shitter since he left and if he came back and turned things around he could reap the glory and be worshipped on Wearside. Would he return with Short still here though? I very much doubt it, but if there was anyone out there that was currently available then BSA has to the man to turn things around here. It would mean Short coughing up some money to pay off Larry (why he was given a 3 year contract instead of 12 months doesn't make any sense to me) and whatever it takes to tempt BSA back.
Bear in mind Everton players had downed tools as they wanted rid of Roberto MartinezI remember only losing 4 league games between new year and the end of the season..i remember a happy squad..i remember beating Everton and Chelsea and the SOL bouncing.

The way I saw it was we beat them 3-0 made ourselves safe and doomed the mags..I couldn't have give a flying fuck what the Everton players agenda was.

I understand, but a motivated Everton is a different beast to the half-assed team who was strolling around for most of that seasonThe way I saw it was we beat them 3-0 made ourselves safe and doomed the mags..I couldn't have give a flying fuck what the Everton players agenda was.
And now look at the club.
Like pretty much every team he leaves, they are in the shit after the mess he leaves. No club is left in a stable position. He’s utter shite

If we had relegated Burnley or Norwich[/B] the BSA halo wouldn’t sign half as bright
So it's now BSA's fault for all this shite we're in? FFS who's next the program sellers?
What mess did he leave us in like..he left at a bad time granted..but the England job is the pinnacle for an English manager..Palace were 17th when BSA took over..at one point he had them 12th including wins away at Chelsea and Liverpool..he kept them up..mission accomplished.

Maybe..but we did..and it shone brightly.
Chelsea fought hard, whereas I do not believe Everton did. What about the Chelsea side we'd beaten 4 days earlier or the Arsenal team we took a point off..not motivated as well??
Are you Sam?

Also Mannone was outstanding that day, it was a really competitive match
I am not negative about it - but it has to be taken into context, for Big Sam is touted as some sort of Shankley-esque genius by some. He is a good, solid premier manager, but he knew what was coming and bailedNo..i'm merely pointing out that he was best thing to happen to this club in years..i'm just stating facts..the reason ourselves and Crystal Palace are in the mess we're in now is basically this..players love playing for BSA..I've read interviews with various players he's had with him over the years..in particular Kevin Nolan who said the atmosphere he creates is fantastic and players will run through brick walls for him..it's not rocket science and proves itself when both us and Palace have suffered since he left..i'm still waiting for @TicoTorres to explain what 'corrupt Allardyce' or whatever he called him has actually been charged with??
You believe what you want..we beat them both the SOL was rocking and we doomed the mags..why are you so negative about that??
