All you posters who wanted rid of Phil Bardsley

Bow your head in shame. Bardsley was a good solid full back for our club and is miles better than our current full backs.
As one of Bardsley's biggest fans I must say that he's hardly set the world alight at Stoke. He was a solid, old fashioned full back and some of the grief that he got on here was stupid. But at the match he was always roundly supported and his sometimes reckless tackles were always cheered. He was decent enough but let's be fair, Danny Collins was a better full back than the current mob at the moment.

I think Jones and PVA will improve if the fans don't get on their back...

We're really expected to look back in regret at losing Bardsley?! Phil Bardsley?!
He was alright in fairness. The criticism of him on here (not at the match where he was something of a crowd favourite) was ridiculous.

I largely agree.

Undoubtedly a limited footballer but I was always a fan till his most recent season. Publicly mocking our defeat and the casino etc meant he had to go. His attitude and effort worsened considerably in a short space of time and without these attributes he offered very little.

Don't think he's the type of player we should be sobbing over losing.

No, that is fair but we have hardly ever signed decent full backs. Chris Making, him, Mickey Gray, Martin Scott, Kubizcki, Kay and McCartney are the only decent ones I can remember in my 36 years. Edit: the only decent ones who weren't on loan.

Arca as well but he was better further forward.

Owers and Colback filled in alright as well.

To be fair, that's 10 decent fullbacks.

I didn't mind Bardsley fair enough he had his bad days but who doesn't always gave 110% when he played and popped up to score a occasional screamer now on then

cant argue with his efforts for 750K , played in some of our highlights during his time, scored goals, played both flanks

was idiotic over the di canio thing but he battled back in and earned his place on merit

He's better than Billy Jones, another example of us letting a player leave (this time for nowt) and replacing him with someone inferior.
