I reckon it's islamic culture clashing with western ideology or something like that.

People demanding their freedom - made possible by Internet communication and catalysed by Wikileaks (Tunisia).

Thatcher/Bruce/Chavs/Liberals/The Style Council/Islam OUT

It is the same as has happened all over with the financial crisis. Why can't some people see that?

Financial plague spreads, citizens vote out or depose government who get the blame, new govt. introduce measures which cause riots etc

Oil money running out (especially in Bahrain) combined with technological advances and high unemployment.

Your right mate but, they are all dictatorships, either royal families, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain etc or families dynasties who want to retain power Gadaffi in Libya, Assad in Syria, Saddam in Iraq (if he hadn't kicked out) the Tunisia lot, and so on

Whats is happening in the Middle East is following the fall of communism, sadly I think Islamic extremists and mad Muller's will fill the void

True, although the people in the Gulf oil states usually aren't too bothered about democracy as long as they get huge handouts through oil money, now it's started running out it's going to all get rather tense. Qatar will remain safe as houses though, think that will be the only card not to fall (they have shedloads of oil left and the highest GDP/capita in the world).

don't think so....

egypt, tunisia and libya have all suffered from corruption, nepotism and gross financial mismanagement and worse by their regimes but not so much by the financial crisis. they also all have growing populations, so lots of young people unable to find work (again not the direct fault of the gfc)

the desire for change has been contagious. if you can present facts to the contrary then fair enough.
