Yeah it happened with mine, almost through it now though... he's 17 and you can once again ask him to do things without a reaction and almost talk to him again.

My daughter went to bed the night before her 13th birthday a sweeter happy child I've yet to see, next morning it was like something out of a horror movie, it continued unabated for 5 or 6 years and 20 years later I can still see glimpses.
