'We don't demand a team that wins, we demand one that tries'
They either thought Bruce didn't try or their statement about that is just utter bullshit.
Basically they want a team that costs lots of money and they want to win.
If this doesn't happen they want to sack the board and the managers head

Its all about attention and how they look to the outside world. Joelinton cost a lot of money, but he's a laughing stock.

They so badly want to be seen as a big club. They can't claim that by showing off a trophy cabinet, so they want big names on the team sheet and a big name in the dugout. The stats for Bruce/Benitez prove that. Benitez won something at a different club. That's why he is a hero. They justify it as being "because he had a project", but the truth is, having him in the dugout (in their eyes) gives them prestige that Bruce doesn't.

No matter what we say or what we do the deal is done let's just leave it
They've won
I'm sick of this thread they are the richest club in the world. So what!! let's just concentrate on us there's nothing we can do about it
If or when we play them just let's see what happens
Forgot them they are in bed with the devil himself I hope they enjoy the ride parden the pun
I agree with all the human rights rights issues ect ect but nothing is going to change
Let's move on..........please
Sounds like you are struggling to move on if you ask me.

We haven't won but we certainly have jumped into bed with the devil, so to speak.
The problem is, we've all jumped into bed with the devil because football is so unfair and corrupt these days. Not just football but this is what we're looking at.

Spot on

Part of the reason he didn't get a chance from the start was that he had previously managed little old Sunderland, so how come someone who had managed such a small, insignificant club be fit for purpose to manage the mighty Newcastle United?
Strange that because when Rafa left almost every Newcastle fan said that the club were favourites for relegation, such was the quality of the squad he left behind. Bruce made a couple of additions after losing the previous seasons top 2 goal scorers, guided that squad to 12th and received nothing but abuse for his troubles.
Yes and he also identified and signed their only really decent player, one who can make you get out of your seat and who should be destined for better things in St Max…..Rafa signed boring shite

I e said this before and whilst I agree with you the Saudis are murderers, not just illegal warfare genuine cold blooded killing, that's why for me this is too distasteful to ever watch a premier League game it's a step too far.

'Jumped into bed with the devil' is meant to be a metaphor though. You lot have actually done it. Your owner is genuinely evil.

They’ve got their club back and their wish for Bruce to go ! All they want now is a team that tries that’s all they want nothing else

Their club is so much further away from them now than what is was when Ashley bought it then sold it…Ashley bought it from Geordies born and bred iirc
Na i dont agree with that, the bloke got treat like shit from day 1.just look at how they took to benitez he done the same job really, if not a little worse. Hows a hero and Bruce is hated, very strange bunch
And Rafa took them down after 10 games in charge……imagine if Bruce had done that

Why they use win percentage as a stat is daft for a manager as it should use PPG (in relation to league games). A manager could win 10, draw 20 and lose 8 but have a shit win % yet still a decent PPG. Up until this season, the PPG was the same in the PL for both matching both seasons between Bruce and Benitez.

ASM only started half the league games last season and in the squad (25 times). After a draw in the 1st game he missed, you won the next 2 against Palace & WBA but then drew 4 and lost 6 in the next 10, overall W2 D5 L6 so 0.85 PPG. The rest of the games was W10 D4 L11 which is 1.36 PPG or 51 PTS a season.

Wilson started 23 games (squad 27) and he was the reverse as you won the last 2 games he didn't play right at end of season against already relegated Sheff Utd & Fulham. His record for games missed was W2 D4 L5 so 0.91 PPG but given the last 2 games of season then was he missed in those? Rest of games were W10 D5 L12 or 1.3 PPG or 49 PTS

Last season you also missed Dubravka in goal to injury. He eventually got back into goal and ended up with a record of W5 D5 L3 or 1.54 PPG or 58 PTS a season. You won 5 of your last 8 games last season, only dropping points when you lost to Man City & Arsenal and drew with Liverpool.

Dubravka's also missed all the games this season along with Wilson missing 4 of 8 games so how much has this cost in PPG? You ended up drawing with Southampton after Wilson went off injured while you were winning 1-0 so did you drop 2 points? Could Wilson & Dubravka have helped turn draws against Leeds & Watford into wins or possibly a defeat to Wolves into a draw or better? You could well have been on P8 W2 D2 L4 8PTS or more.

Who has been 'backed' the most in the transfer market? Bruce got no 'new' players this season when the team really needed them so again how many points did this cost. Yet how many players did Benitez bring in compared to Bruce?

Anyway long story short, let's just look at the win percentage and Bruce's 7 wins in 38 games and not a bit more of the bigger picture.

Stone me mate, you know more about NUFC than I do....

I understand your points, but trying to match the 2 is stupid, no matter what money was spent, I see you ignored the fact Bruce brought Wilson in, and I presume Rafa had no injuries during his time....

For what its worth, I stopped going when Rafa was manager as the football was shite and boring....I'm not a Rafa fan but even I can see Bruce is the worst manager we've had out of a very bad bunch....
That may be true but he still deserved to be backed and applauded for keeping yous up for two seasons given the quality of your squad under his tenure

He had some good runs, I can't deny that, but he was a dinosaur, his tactics in some games were horrendous....
