The Benitez Bruce thing was always such a daft comparison though, Benitez left the club finishing 13th having stabilised and kept them up comfortably two seasons in a row. Bruce was then given the best part of a £100 million yet took the team backwards. It’s daft saying the win ratio or whatever is similar when Bruce was given all that money and made a stable mid table team worse.
On whom did he spend £100m?

Fuck him. Absolute coward and it was always someone else’s fault. He only has had his career to date because of the old boys club.

Some of the shite he came out with about his time at SAFC and you’re wishing him all the best? Balls to that, fuck him.
He is a dreadful human being. Absolutely despised at Palace

He’s very attack minded, they need their defence shoring up. No matter what work they do in January, they are going to have a largely immobile side that cannot play the way he demands his sides too. Favre is much in the same vein though I think would be a better appointment for them than Fonseca. They are clearly going down the ‘big fancy name’ approach, getting wrapped up in the needing to play good football nonsense, which would have been a exciting proposition for them if it was May rather than October, with 3 points from 8 games.
I've just looked at Fonsecas record doesn't appear to stop more than a year most places better off going 2 Watford.

Steve Bruce nearly became manager of Tranmere Rovers once but chose Wigan Athletic instead. The amount of shit given by his decision from our supporters wouldn't have covered an amoeba.

Joe Linton wasn't his. Willock £25mil?
Featuring in every single Premier League match also happened despite the striker getting increasingly worse over the course of the season and having 10 months between his first and last (second) PL goals of the season.

Many Newcastle fans believing that the only explanation for Steve Bruce bizarrely continuing to select Joelinton, was due to orders from Mike Ashley.

However, when Steve Bruce took over in July 2019 as Head Coach, he insisted (see below) that there was absolutely no way he would have taken the Newcastle job, unless he had the final say on transfers.

Then despite Mike Ashley admitting in some detail in late July 2019 how he had forced Rafa Benitez out of Newcastle so that he could push through the Joelinton £40m+ transfer, after the Brazilian signed, Steve Bruce again insisted that he was in charge of transfers and that it was he who had decided to sign the player from Hoffenheim.
🤷‍♂️
