We pissed promotion under Ashley and it would happen again under our current owners , Newcastle being in the championship is like Sunderland being in league one , it should never happen and only happens due to terrible ownership and management . It’s not being arrogant but if We go down this season that’s one promotion place already gone for next season , last few times we have been relegated we have came back a better team so it’s not unrealistic to think it will happen again with owners who have a bit of ambition.
Quite arrogant to say Newcastle in the Championship is similar to Sunderland in League 1 as prior to 92 Newcastle had more spells in 2nd tier then Sunderland have had in League 1.

There's zero evidence there will be much money spent so far. Even the names linked ( which I appreciate are paper talk ) don't inspire much confidence. Seems a total lack of planning from Newcastles part , which I find hilarious but the blind obedience on their part is going to make it a hard pill to swallow once cold realisation hits for some haha

You definitely have mag tendencies. Lots of spin you can put on the situation to arrive at a different conclusion:

- No new manager bounce;
- GJ still on the scene not knowing where he stands;
- Unwanted players sitting on contracts and stinking the place out;
- Paying top wages for new players creating a unbalanced dressing room;
- Players not wanting to come because of relegation risk;
- They have won one game due to a goal keeping error;
-The owners are clueless about football;
- if they don’t spend big the atmosphere will quickly turn toxic.
- Burnley’s games in hands could be dead rubbers:
It’s not hard to put a different spin on it..

I kept hearing that they would be cast adrift after this difficult December fixture list but they aren't. They are still well in touch and the form table actually has them above Leeds & Watford. They are in big trouble but not already down as some are saying.
Hard to be cast adrift when Burnley aren’t getting a game mind ;)

Newcastle have spent 24% of their history outside of the top flight, Sunderland 28%. Sunderland were in the top flight from it's second season in 1890, until 1958. Newcastle were up and down like a yoyo. Sunderland have finished top 3 in the country 1 in every 6.25 seasons, Nufc: 1 in every 20 seasons. If anything it's Sunderland that shouldn't be out of the top division.

You daft buggers aren't entitled to top flight football anymore than Sunderland. The arrogance of your fans is ridiculous.

So are you saying under the ownership of MA you were better off?? Your heads are so bent around at the moment you can’t remember who to blame for your situation.
You need to be off now, you’re starting to leave a bad stench here

Have to admit whilst don’t want to go down relegation won’t be the end of the world , get rid of all the deadwood and build again in the championship, we all know relegation is down to the mess Ashley and Bruce left us in so that can’t be helped . The owners have the money to ensure we are only in the championship for a year and then come back up with a stronger squad that what we have now . Let’s be honest If Sunderland do get promoted this season it’s certainly a lot better for them if Newcastle aren’t in the same league next season.

Ah yes this old mantra. Quoted by fans of every club who is relegated. I wonder how the "build again in the championship" is going at Sheffield Wednesday, Forest or Charlton.

The one thing that you and the majority of Newcastle fans are missing is... just because your owners are massively wealthy, it's no guarantee they will write a blank cheque in any division. And if they do there's no guarantee that the money will buy success. (See Joelinton as evidence of that). Relegation would be a disaster and deep down you know it, just as every fan who says that does. I've said it myself regarding Sunderland

Also wheres the evidence that your new owners are ambitious. Amanda Staveley has made a statement that she wants to win a trophy in 5 years. That's it. A similar statement is made by every new owner from George Reynolds to Al Fayed.
She's also said they won't be spending big.... Howe has said his priority is to work with the players he has. Not overly ambitious messages there....

If they lose tomorrow, they'll have 10 points from 19 games. Burnley in 18th have 11 points and a superior GD, and will have an incredible 4 games in hand on Newcastle.

Watford in 17th have a 3 point advantage and superior GD to Newcastle. They will also have 3 games in hand on Newcastle after tomorrow. Get beat tomorrow, and they are in massively deep shlt.

Hoy in that one of their games in hand is against each other which will increase the gap one way or another
