I think Cattermole could still come through. Was interesting what PDC said about Wes Brown last week, how he ignored him for 7 days to see how he reacted. Brown got on with it and was leading the way in training every day encouraging the rest of them.

Will be interesting what Cattermole's attitude is like at the moment. Will be make or break for him with us.

Maybe his partner who has just had a baby is Turkish or found it easier to settle in Turkey therefore in the best interests of all concerned its better that he went..

Financially January must be one of the biggest recruitment failures we've had in a long time. Another MON disaster. Kader Mangane didnt kick a ball, Graham was £5m and now Alfie £3.5. None are now at the club.
Whilst it is assumed we will replace him this all costs money and we've just stumped up £8.5m in January for seemingly nowt.
Whilst not sorry to see Graham go although a sale for £2m would have been better I cant see what we gain from this second loan deal. The jury was very much out on Alfie but it was too early to judge a young player this quickly and our squad is still way too thin to let him go without yet more spending. If PDC doesnt fancy him a sale would be better so we get funds in to reinvest.
Not sure if we are getting loan fees for both these players and it is to be hoped both are paying the full wages.
PDC is doing a great job and Ellis Short's backing has been brilliant (our lass spent more at the airshow hot dog stand than Ashley has this summer) but Januarys window has clearly cost us. However we trust in both and move on.
Haway the Lads!

Ultimately cost MON his job but letting Campbell and Ji go was probably a bigger mistake.

Maybe, just maybe, Alf and/or his agent initiated this move as it involves return to Turkey, and the club decided that they could get a better technically gifted player for less or the same salary? Maybe the club see the bigger picture.

In my humble opinion Alf appeared to be a nice fella but was never going to set the world alight or hold down a first team place whilst Cabral is at the club. I suspect that Alf's salary was too big to sustain as squad player. I could be wrong.

Dont understand the people not happy about it. We're obviously going to be bringing in a cm with a lot of quality. Chill out

Quite a strange one this. He done well under PDC I thought he'd of noticed the hard work. Unless there's something about him behind closed doors that the gaffer doesn't like.

It might be for personal reasons. Paolo doesn't have to automatically dislike a player because he loans him out.

Be surprised if he did. Another one who is on a very big wage.

I never understood alfie being on a big wage. Where did this come from? Unproven young cm who was never setting the world alight in turkey playing in a position which doesnt really attract big wages. Probably a reason hes being moved on as it was a bit of a mistake by oneill
