Famous quote which should be taken heed of by his admirers on here

"Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it"

He was awful in his PL appearances. Shall we do it all over again?

Yet Giddup Sausage thought he was "head and shoulders above any other player on the park in the games he played"..........beggars belief that statement IMO......I must have been watching the wrong player all along.

He wasnt like. And lets remember the team the was brought into.

He showed enough for me to allow him more time to settle in and get used to the prem/team mates.

Not sure why anyone would be surprised by this at all. In the few games he did play he was utter cackpanse. Technically he was no better than a pub player and imagine him trying to gel into Poyets passing style. No thanks.

aye cattermoles passing is first class at all times

If he stays he would need to be a cross between Yaya Toure and Iniesta to stand a chance and if he goes many will believe we have let the Messiah leave. Surprised Gus wouldn't give him a pre season to check him out properly though as 1) he is already our player 2) We aren't exactly inundated with fast and powerful midfielders currently. I trust Gus to get it right but I would be wary in writing off a player I hadn't met or had first hand experience of. He showed enough to prove he has something but also showed enough to suggest he might not be, mainly because he played in 16 games in total. I don't believe anybody on here has the right to judge a player based on that.

Whenever a player looks set to leave on here they always become shite in posters eyes.

He was arguably our best player in the scum/everton games. Poyet is the type of bloke to get his passing up to scratch, he's done it with lee cattermole

A lot of people on here writing him off (again...) after he only had a few games for us in a team that was playing UTTER shite. Not only that but he was head and tails above anyone else on the park in the games he played.

Probably the same dipshits that wrote Yaya Toure off after a few games (and some still did after he had a few seasons..).

As said above, if Catts, O'Shea and the like can "get in a Poyet team" then why can this fella not? He isn't anywhere near as bad as some are trying to make out when on the ball and he hasn't been tried in the team where players all look for the ball and move into space.

Would at least like Gus to give him a f***ing try. Wickham would have been out of the door also had our strikers not been as misfiring, or injured, as they have been. And again some on here would have loved that.

Why do our black fans get so much more stick by some sections who just want them to fail and be out of the team? Are the media actually right and we do have a big following who are backwards as fuck still up here? fishy fishy

They are 2 good players

This lad isn't, there is a reason he was shipped out from his loan in turkey, ended up playing centre back for a team that finished bottom of the season. He isn't very good.

those 2 games clouded so many fans judgement

we have moved on from that, we beat everton at home 1-0 and beat an awful mags side away from home, big deal

doesn't mean we should shape our team around it

no not really, you look at what he has done on loan as well, he isn't needed, there is no big story here

I think its a shame like.

He adds much needed muscle to the centre of midfield and whilst I accept his passing could be greatly improved I just feel he adds something different.

Due to his build I'd like to see him playing centre half, which he did a few times for Betis.

How often did he play Centre half at Betis?

Has a couple of good games but we have to forget about them
