Spot-on. I really liked the sound of Mendy but, as you say, wouldn’t be fit for a good while.Over 120 professional appearances including goals and assists in the Champions League and recognized as an exciting up and coming talent - yet you think he wouldn't have an instant impact?
As much as I'd like Mendy also he'd hardly be instant impact either - if we signed him tomorrow it would be several weeks until we would see him in action, he hasn't played at all so far this season
I mean, I'd still like Mendy, Isidor, and Simic all together - but maybe that's being greedy!Spot-on. I really liked the sound of Mendy but, as you say, wouldn’t be fit for a good while.
When reports were that we’d offered £2-3m the other day I thought, yeah that’ll do it but when they reportedly asked for double well that’s just silly.
Was just about to post the same, really winds me up when people post goals per appearance.1 in 3 per 90 which I always think is a better stat

What's happened with him this season, has he been in their sqaud at all. They have played 3 league games by the looks of it.Last season. Got just over 1 in 6 in their top flight.
If we could get him for our offer then, absolutely mate. If it was anywhere near our entire budget (including wages) then, we simply can’t as have January to think about as well.I mean, I'd still like Mendy, Isidor, and Simic all together - but maybe that's being greedy!
Doesn’t look like he has mateWhat's happened with him this season, has he been in their sqaud at all. They have played 3 league games by the looks of it.
I know places like Wikipedia just do the topline figures but there is a wealth of stats on the internet now which are just as easy to find on places like fbrefWas just about to post the same, really winds me up when people post goals per appearance.![]()
I did doubt your ability to turn this into a negative but you succeeded, well done. But he is only 20 and we might make a profit on him.
So prime consideration has been met
Goal scoring record ?
What profit would we have made on Mendy if we had signed him for 2 mil (or whatever we thought reasonable) for a 30 yr old league 2 player ?Yep summed it up. That's why we haven't signed him
Our prime consideration which trumps all others. Profit over instant impact at all times
Doesn't leave much of a path way for Mayenda when we usually only play with 1 strikerI mean, I'd still like Mendy, Isidor, and Simic all together - but maybe that's being greedy!
You have no idea what impact Mendy would have made. You have no idea what impact the 2 we're currently linked with could make.Yep summed it up. That's why we haven't signed him

Depends if we'll be playing Isidor as an out and out striker - he's played across the front three before and in Clarke's position. If we loaned out Hemir (which we should - not like he's getting any game time at the minute anyway), that might leave us less bloated, could also raise the prospect of playing two up front in certain games.Doesn't leave much of a path way for Mayenda when we usually only play with 1 striker

And once again you have shown yours! Just can't help yourself can you?![]()
This, it could be the polar opposite of last summers transfer window, holding on to Clarke is the key to success this season imo.Even I’ll admit there’s a few going overboard like, the negativity currently is unwarranted, we are trying to bring a couple in and have had 2 very positive results.
I’ll wait and see how it looks in 10 days but for now surely people can hang fire a bit.

But we could also just as easy lose Clarke for a shit fee and not sign any strikers. These kick in the bollocks has happened to us before.Exactly, I’m the first to call out unwarranted abuse, but for the first time in a few months I can see good work being done.
I don’t want to jump in and be all Mr everything amazing, but as you say keep Clarke and get 2 in and it’s looking canny.
It’s right on the knife edge as things stand. For once hopefully it goes our way. Absolutely no point in negativity at this moment in time.

You would think so like. We've made a very positive start to the season, and these 2 at least have a fair bit experience of men's footy.Even I’ll admit there’s a few going overboard like, the negativity currently is unwarranted, we are trying to bring a couple in and have had 2 very positive results.
