Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

Mogga's last stand

Although you thought he was a dubious, cheap choice?
I did .. but you can't fault what was done in our 1st year back. The period leading upto the playoff was exciting.
That post was made early into the tenure ...he won me over

Even with the handicap of dodds and Proctor who are still mysteriously in post after obvious failures.

Who'd have guessed.

As I say, even if we're promoted, we'll have some people talking about how shit we are because small clubs like Brentford and Brighton beat us or finish above us.
I think that’s it for some posters, they have an idea of SAFC that doesn’t meet the current reality and they’re impatient to get back to where they feel we belong.

I’m more relaxed about it. Of course I want us to do as well as possible and promotion should be the aim….but tbh I don’t mind being in the Championship. The PL comes with plenty of downsides including VAR, less games and endless ott hype.

We have a very good first eleven…..lacking depth and a striker as we all know. We’ve also increased the squad value massively since they came in, and that’s good for the long term future of the club. It’s not all doom and gloom.

I agree, however for you to say the club was 'lucky' with his appointment as it was exactly what we needed at the time, after you posted that, just shows that you are making stuff up to to try and strengthen your argument.

A fortnight to go until Speakman wheels out.....

'It's not just about signing any striker but the correct striker for the SAFC style of play. We pushed hard on a number of options but every club in Europe are in need of strikers and finalising a deal was difficult. The data shows us that the majority of goals in the Championship are scored by midfielders rather than strikers and we are incredibly well stocked in this area. We have every faith in the existing squad and under the guidance of Regis we can look forward to a successful season.'

You know something along these lines is coming.

Par for the course. It was pointed out we haven’t sold Clarke (a couple of ITKs saying he’s signing a new deal) and immediately the response was no one has bid for him and we will probably sell him in January anyway.

Constantly just inventing things to be mad at.

Whee said he is singeing a new deal?

It took time for him to coalesce the squad into being an effective championship unit ...and ultimately we were fortunate that he did that.

But the luck was really not appointing another Lee johnson type or worse sticking with dodds..
I'm hardly making stuff up.. I'm giving my own interpretation.... I'm not trying to spin anything and you're trying to discredit an opinion

We took a chance in Mowbray and it paid out...we got lucky. There were patchy periods ...stoke hammering us at home and Burnley destroying us I a second half.

But my overarching point still stand... we are a cheap shoestring operation... id be interested to know if you can prove to me we are not

It’s absolutely farcical and so is the story spun that the only type of striker that will suit our system fits such a small criteria that the only one they’ve found just so happens to be 30yr old and allegedly available for €2.5m

I feel like I can see what we are trying to do, and I can see why when you look at the state of football outside the top 7. I think Coventry and Middlesbrough are taking a similar approach, and Luton did until promotion.

I still have frustrations, like the striker problem is legitimate. But all of these conspiracy theories about the owners not wanting promotion and not trying is too far for me.

I'm not trying to discredit your opinion, I pointed out that your recent opinion went against that which you had of Mowbray a while back - take that as you will.

I'm all for people having opinions, but when they make thinks up to try and support an argument, they should expect it to be pointed out to them.

I've no interest in proving anything about the way the club is run, I haven't a clue like 99.99% of the people on here, including you.

Don’t disagree we’re run on a budget that doesn’t match a premier league club. But does that stop you supporting them, we could wish for Middle East money, but if they don’t want to buy us that’s hardly kld fault is it? Blaming someone incessantly for not spunking his entire fortune on making us a top club is neither realistic or fair imho.
