Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

I told you the other day that there's no certainty with any transfer. Lots of variables can happen.
Nah I agree, but what’s obvious is that we have identified a target in Mendy, which is fair enough, but he was the one and only target so not being able to nail it down is criminal.

Yes I know we enquired about Lankshear a couple of months ago and it looks like it may only happen now, but I’ve been very vocal on this thread in saying if the only striker we sign is a loan from the PL U21 league they can fuck off!
Far too easy to play against. CBs took it off him at will. Was very weak imo
I thought he had a decent game overall me, tarnished by that miss that he absolutely should have buried.

He got at least 3 shots away so they definitely didn’t take the ball off him at will.

I don’t think he’d be getting the stick he’s getting if we had already signed another striker and he was just playing now and then, people are just hyper focused on him due to the lack of other options and I can understand that.

Maybe b & c failed as well. Point is we don't know any of their plans.
Again you've assumed there wasn't one.
Fair enough it's possible. I'm not sure failing to attract any of multiple targets is much better than not having them in the first place mind.

Personally think the club have banked the full transfer window on selling Clarke early doors and with that not happening thats the reason no one has been bought for a fee which is utterly insane considering Clarke could be sold very late in the window.

 Aye I do. I personally think that we had all our eggs in the Moore basket and if what you're saying is correct, we took them out of there and put them all in the Mendy one.
And now Caen look to have fucked us off we are frantically scarpering about trying to find other baskets to fling them at from a distance hoping one of them lands inside one of the baskets.

Was willing it to go in for the lad not an easy chance.
He did well during the game and at least he ran into a good position and had a go.
If he gets a goal hopefully confidence will soar -what is he 18 ?-and being asked to carrry the burden with all the background stuff around a striker …we cannot fault his work rate -hope he scores v sheff wed
Would be great for the young un

It’s really poor if this is the crack like and would show that they absolutely haven’t realised previous mistakes.

Even if we ended up with, say, Roofe and Lankshear, it wouldn’t be great.

Hopefully we go back for Mendy.

Half right, Mayenda not going to score in a month of Sundays on today’s performance
He won't get an easier chance than the one he got yesterday. Just had to place it to the left (the keeper's right) and he opted for the other side, truly baffling.

There seems to be a recurring theme with transfers this past two years...All the eggs in one basket then " oh feck!" when it goes tits up.
